Announcing Sonic 1: WTF LAME, created by GerbilSoft and Sonic65.

The game is similar to Sonic 1, but there's a new Wetflame monitor.

If you hit it, shenanigans might happen! :O

UPDATE: I have released a minor update that fixes a few bugs. Notably, some text formatting bugs and sound glitches have been fixed.
UPDATE 2: Revision 2 release. I accidentally broke random selection in Revision 1. :(
UPDATE 3: Revision 3 release. Labyrinth 2 is now completable, and some bugs with the TL;DR screen when invoked from water levels have been fixed.

LOL, the Wetflame monitor totally took me off guard. Brilliant! XD

The scrolling effect on the title screen text is pretty neat, too. :)

I should've thought twice before downloading this, knowing this was to be a Gerbilsoft-sponsored attempt at humor.

Nice job giving Wetflame the attention he craves, though!

Should I be amazed that this didn't involve the almighty (lol) rick roll?

Actually, Gerbil told me to put that in the credits, but I forgot.

There's a monitor in Lz3 that hides a switch needed to open a door. So not really =|

After numerous tries, I passed Act 1.

Then I passed act 2 with no problem.

    Act 3.

I hit 2 monitors at once at the very start.

This hack captures the essence of Lame. The sound glitches, the long whiny posts no one gives a rats ass about because of the needless babbling. Best part? You can't escape it. Even the credits trigger it sooner or later. This game can never be won.

We have our SAGE winner right here. Everything else can go home.

I love the concept of this hack because it portrays an average day dealing with Wetflame perfectly.

You spend all your time carefully treading around, but one wrong move and you accidentally set him off twice in quick succession. Then before you know it you're landed with a wall of text you can't escape from.

    Amazing. Well done!

This is clearly the best hack ever made.

    Ever.
I actually lost the game, and Rofl'd at the same time.

THIS IS THE GREATEST HACK OF ALL TIME.

But, when I beat GHZ1, the same effect happened as if I had broken a Wetflame monitor (though I got a chaos emerald in the special stage, if that has anything to do with it). And then I lost the game. Fuck you.

Getting into big rings is the same as breaking a Wetflame monitor.
