Gameinformer probably got it wrong, leading everyone to think that's the actual name.

 

Damn, I can't nitpick any more with stuff like this. I love everything about it.

From the last two Sonic Mania videos I've seen, GameXplain seems to be turning into GameDurrrr.

The Sonic account released their own footage of Chemical Plant Act 2. It's pretty similar to the Gamespot trailer, only with a few more seconds at the beginning and a better feel of the music.

 

That footage Is definitely better. I came with that DNA elevator. And that syringe with goo is awesome.

I can't express how hyped I am for this game.

Pd: Please, release the OST in Spotify at release. Or elsewhere. This music is made of godness.

 

I do hope the Act 1 BG gets some extra parallax treatment. Doubt it, but it's begging for it.

WELP. I definitely did NOT expect that to be the first major boss of the game.

Well, I'm surprised at Chemical Plant Zone. Slightly disappointed that it's another one that was already remade recently in Generations, but this is certainly an interesting take on it. Things that stuck out to me:

- Act 1 is using both acts of the original game's layout; does this suggest that Act 2 is entirely new?
- Lots of Sonic CD nods, with the tubes from Quartz Quadrant turning into the ones from Metallic Madness, and the bouncy floors reminiscent of Wacky Workbench, which pretty much rules these levels out entirely now.
- That DNA elevator is awesome.

Seeing Chemical Plant has made me feel like Aquatic Ruin and Death Egg are less likely, but at the same time I'm feeling Hydrocity for the water level now.

 

What the actual fuck is that?!

I'm going to hate saying this but I'm rather unimpressed with the Chemical Plant choice, other Sonic 2 zones deserved their chance too and the city background doesn't seem to be improved.
Oh well, if they can give a new twist, I'll still enjoy it.

However that first boss looks amazing!!

 

Hahaha of course they brought back the infamous rising purple water trap from CPZ Act 2 (in the new CPZ Act1). Wonder if there are secrets ways to completely skip again.

 

Hate to break it to you Arse, but that's not a series first.

This is painful.

What makes you think they're only taking one Sonic 2 zone? There's almost definitely going to be a second.

The boss is an interesting twist.

 

That's similar to what Arse Technica describes as the proper boss of GHZ.
