Sonic & Knuckles XBLA Achievements Revealed

I've never been able to pull it off.

And the Sonic Jam version is the only one out there where you can just do it at the title screen.

It's UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, UP, UP, UP, UP, right? I'm pretty sure you have to do it during the bigass Sonic zoom in.

I never managed to pull it out, but I had the Japanese version, so I have an excuse :P (weirdly, I always manage to do it on the SMC release, maybe they changed something there, or I suddenly became better)

But, returning on topic, am I the only one disappointed by the complete lack of lock-on achievements?
They could have at least made a "complete Sonic 2 with Knuckles" or "get a perfect in Blue Sphere".

 

I'm sure I've glitched S3&K before so that it has taken me to the S&K title screen. (I'm not sure if I did it with debug or not) I have done it on my Mega Drive and the Gamecube versions of Mega Collection. Surely that could still happen.

Ok, admittedly S&K doesnt have save games, but it's still something to be able to reach a title screen.

 

I've glitched it too to pop up the s&k screen when in s3k mode, but doing that without debug mode would be quite difficult, and even in that case probably the sega vintage menu would appear too... ruining all of our hopes...

Yeah, I've never been able to do it myself, and usually I'm alright at quickfire stuff like that.

 

These achievements are ridiculous. My friend bought Sonic 3 for XBLA and it took me about an hour to beat the game with all 7 chaos emeralds, unlocking all the achievements in the process. WTF?

 

These achievements insult me.

 

I only managed to do that once in my life on emulator after 30 tries or so, it's the hardest cheat to trigger.
Anyway, any glitch we could exploit without having to press start?

XBLA release in 8 hours time, looking foward to this game more then the others as it's the least played game of the 4 that I have not played much, still played it a ton but I mean that there are parts to levels I forget about and I don't really remember the later half of the game much apart from SSZ.

 

will it feature something more than savestates at least for the lock on games?
If it has savestates for s3k then I will be even more disappointed.
Well the achievements are easy as hell.

 

Only savestates, S&K had no ability to save like S3 unless combined.

Level select still works (left left left right right right up x4) but you can't press A and Start together without the pause menu coming up :P

 

but does s3k combine have the ability to save ? or only savestates?

bah they're just lazy as hell, they did not even remove the cheats....

 

I'm assuming only save states like Sonic 3 alone

 

Does Level Select + Debug Mode work in S3K?

 

Id imagine not seeing as when you press start the Menu for the Emulator that they use for these comes up.. I had this thought the other day.

 

You don't need to press Start+A to use debug.
