I appreciate the vote of confidence. =P

Essentially it's what's already been said - there's a noticeable difference between the June 23rd Demo & the one myself, Orenge & Jen played at GAMEFest - Sonic DOES feel less heavy and he IS jumping a little higher than before, and it feels far more natural as a result.

  2. Man, this is gonna be fuckin' beatiful on my PC.

Now when are they gonna list on Steam, goddamnit? That's where I want to pre-order from...

  3. Anyone know any sites that sell those graphics cards? Can't seem to find them on Newegg.....

  4. They sell better ones now. I got a Radeon HD 6950 from Newegg a couple months ago.

Yes! I was waiting for that confirmation. I'm trying to get a new computer anyway. Now I won't have to go out of my way to get a new console as well. Its also nice to have recommended system specs so I can make sure beyond all shadow of a doubt that I can play this at its best.

Jesus. No wonder they were holding back announcing the PC version. Those requirements are pretty high.

Good thing my body is more than ready.

Some of you expected specs that weren't this high? Lol, this is why I say most people won't be able to play the PC game because not everyone has these top computers to play games like Crysis. I wonder if this game will be on the OnLive service. I know I'll never be able to run this game, until I can afford a new computer.

After reading those requirements, maybe someone can help me know if my new computer can run the game (god I hope so, I can't afford yet another one).
    I got:
AMD Athlon XII dual core, 2.7 ghz processor
Nvidia G210 (512 mb) video card (yeah its not great but its good)
    4 gb DDR2 ram

Seems like its a close call with a machine like that. Anybody know if its a hit or miss?

The GPU will hold you back, the G210 is very low end, you should probably get at least a GT260 or equivalent.

But it CAN play the game, right? Will it run alright if I just keep it at a low resolution like 800x600 or something, I'm perfectly happy with that.

It's a console port, the specs should be lower than this.
My laptop can usually play games better than consoles do, though I hope it uses the CPU more than the GPU. My specs are:

Intel Core i7 2630QM (2GHz quad core sandy bridge)
Geforce GT540M (1GB, but not very fast)
    6GB RAM

At least I hope it can run the game at medium settings and 720p.

I guess it could at a low resolution and low settings if SEGA bothers to give the PC port proper graphical settings.

I'm not in on all of this computer specs thing, but I have a feeling this might not bode well for me if I decide to get the PC version. Anyone want to quell my fears on this?

You should not need a beast computer to play Sonic Generations. These requirements are absurd compared to other games that came out recently.

    The Witcher 2

    Minimum
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or similar AMD
RAM: 1 GB for Win XP / 2 GB for Win Vista
VGA: Nvidia GF 8800 512 VR or similar ATI
    DX: DirectX 9.0c

    Requirement
CPU: Intel Quad Core or AMD equivalent
RAM: 3 GB for Windows XP / 4 GB for Windows Vista and Windows 7
VGA: Nvidia GeForce 260, 1 GB memory / Radeon HD 4850 with 1 GB memory
    DX: DirectX 9.0c

    Metro 2033

    Minimum:
CPU: Dual core CPU (any Core 2 Duo or better will do)
    RAM: 1GB RAM
VGA: DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant graphics cards (GeForce 8800, GeForce GT220 and above)
    DX: DirectX 9

    Recommended:
CPU: Any Quad Core or 3.0+ GHz Dual Core CPU
    RAM: 2GB RAM
VGA: DirectX 10 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 260 and above)
    DX: DirectX 10

    Crysis 2

    Minimum
    CPU: 2GHz Core 2 Duo / A64 X2 CPU
    RAM: 2GB RAM, 8800GT / HD3850
    VGA: 512MB Video Memory
    DX: DX9.0c

    CPU: 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo / A64 X2 CPU
    RAM: 3GB RAM
    VGA: GTX280 / HD4870, 1GB Video Memory
    DX: DX9.0

I'll wait till there's an official announcement to start believing, but you're a fool if you think those requirements are the standard.

Yeah, I think these specs are just SEGA making estimates since this is their first public release of a PC port of a Hedgehog Engine game. Let's hope to GOD the PC port isn't badly done like the Heroes port. :|

In any case, damn, those specs Chimpo mentioned make Generations look like its requirements are GotY worthy in terms of graphics. While Generations is super pretty, I DOUBT it's the BEST looking game out there despite the fact the "good looking" games usually are FPSes trying to replicate real life while this is a cartoon-realisic game. That aside, WHOO GENERATIONS FOR PC. Gonna play the SHIT outta this.

Bring my PC downstairs to my projector screen day of release for this, y or n?

The PS3 is running with a modified 7800. I'd expect that when they say minimum specs, they don't mean "unplayable" specs. If this game can run on the 360 and PS3, it absolutely should be able to run at least at 720p on an 8800 GT, which is miles more powerful than a 7800.
