Woah.. classic Sonic! I did not expect it at all. I saw someone from MSN having this avatar and asked where it was from and he gave me the vid. (Yeah I am late, I had things to do at day and forgot about that) First I thought it was a fan art from sone artist :P.

 

My God this is great. We get to see chubs back in 3D!

Anyone besides me get the feeling that modern Sonic is just "there" where classic Sonic is the bigger deal?

He's over-shadowing modern Sonic and I like it.

 

That just reminded me of the catchy music they used in the Casino Street trailer... which, of course, the in-game music ended up sounding nothing like. Such a shame.

 

Pretty sure that's the nostalgia talking, buddy.


Also, random thought: The release date for this game?

An orchestrated version would be an objective downgrade. What we need is more Mitsuyoshi.

Woah, woah, woah. Classic Sonic is one thing, but actually establishing some form of continuity in the series? I'm not ready for the second coming yet, man, don't scare me.

 

This design choice contradicts Sonic 4's design choice - then again this game would seem to be a broken forth wall anyway. But I approve of it. Curious what direction has been taken, time will tell I guess.

 

This design choice might actually have been made post-Sonic-4-backlash, for all we know.

 

There's this. (if you're using Retro Blue then that's a link) But yeah, he classic Sonic all the way. Mostly Japnese Sonic, but there's a couple of differences:

 

Oh I definitly think this to be one of the reasons for his return, just wondering if any changes will be made to the Sonic 4 series now that they seem to acknowledge his previous design. Ofcourse this game would need to have some sort of fourth wall concept considering he looks different despite no backstory in game as to why - I hope they just treat it all with "more fun than logic", well as logical as a blue talking hedgehog is.

There must be some big changes going on with Sonic 4 (maybe it's just wishful thinking, I don't know). Because if Episode 2 was going to be more of the same shite, then they'd just come out and talk about it freely. I think they're being quiet about if for a reason.

 

I noticed those similarities to Western Sonic upon first glance, Blue Blood. Can't say its great to have because it'd definitely look better without the huge buttbrow and curly ears. Still, it's classic Sonic so I couldn't care less at this point.
