Things in Sonic Games you misinterpreted when you were younger...

I always thought that this thing was part of a snake.

 

Holy shit...They'll have Pointy noses for me no matter how they look. I mean, they don't look that badass without noses =(...

The same thing with me and Spanish...I always call it "Triple Pua" because the way the AoSTH latin spanish dub said it.

Man, I have never got that working... but, my S3 cartridge is one of these Argentina's Pirate Versions (Screw up SEGA logo at first and it doesnt save games) so, I thought that's why It never worked.

This...I still remember a code in a magazine (The debug code in Sonic 2) named like "The 1000 faces of Sonic" or things like that, Also, I always wait some seconds between the inputs of the sound test codes (like, I wait some secs for the song to play and then I change to the other one because sometimes it doesnt work for me)

I tought that It was because he was something like the "dark side", since in 3 he was "a bad guy", and then when he became a Good guy in S3K he was normal red again..

 

Wow! And I thought I was the only one who wondered what the balloon platform really was. When I was little and saw that platform I knew it was some kind of deformed something. My friends and I jokingly call it the Upside Down Lasagna Pan. Or simply. "The Lasagna". Go figure. I was like 8 or 9. :v:

Also, one for me was the jumping Chemical Worm in Chemical Plant Zone. I always thought it may have been some Liquid Metal Caterkiller. Too much Terminator 2 I guess.....

 

I thought Sonic and Knuckles was Sonic 3, the entire Sonic 3, for almost a whole month. I got my Genesis WAAAAAY late in a yard sale bundle with Sonic 1, 2, and K... then I visited my local game rental store and was like "WTPHAX?!".

I really could've avoided these by reading the manuals.
*Tails was female.
*Knuckles was a punk who had a family living on the other side of the island but left them because he's a punk like that.

 

For some fucking reason me and my best friend always called Knuckles "Punch". After discovering his real name we argued over which one of us was the idiot who came up with that assumption (I still say it wasn't me).

 

Knuckles the Ek-chen-da. That is how I pronounced it. You know what is bad? I didn't have Sonic Adventure 1 or 2. I had never heard it spoken till say...the US dub of Sonic X.

Now THAT is bad.

When I played Sonic 3D Blast on the Genesis, and bumped the cartridge and the Level Select showed up, I hid in my bed, thinking I broke the game.

Oh, and during the Hidden Palace custscene with Sonic, I never touched the controller when Knuckles punched the wall down. since Sonic's idle animation is timed so perfectly with the breaking down ofthe wall, I thought Sonic had psychic powers. I still leave the controller alone to this day.

Also, I thought those were owls.

 

You mean they aren't ghost birds? The beak was an arm this whole time? Impossible. Birds would fit the theme, they are after all everywhere on the hylogryphics.

• Super Sonic in 3D blast (disappointment when I beat it with all emeralds)
• Used to think AoStH and SatAM where just different times of Sonic's life. After AoStH, Sonic and Tails met up with the freedom fighters, and Robotnik changed his look (and voice, I guess) and met up with Snively. No idea where I put the games and comics.

 

Similarly, I thought that Rouge's name was pronounced "Rogue". My friends and I though that Sega got the pronunciation wrong.

 

After I found out that there was a "o" in Sandopolis Zone, I called it "San-dohpolis". Sadly, I still do that when I read the title card in my head. >.>

 

When I was younger.

Roller from Spring Yard Zone kept me think of another Sonic clone.
And I don't how to read "Labyrinth Zone" So I called it "Ladybird Zone". =P
And there's weird big head appeared in Lava Powerhouse from Sonic Spinball.



I felt that it stares at me with the big smile and it has 2 eyebrows on.

 

I always though that looked like Garfield for some reason, and I thought Robotnik had robotized him...

 

I thought you got Red Spheres as Knuckles.
Then I fffu'd when I lost.

 

I used to think this was a frog head.

 

I thought Death Egg Zone was the funniest level name in the world, as well as the chickens that shoot eggs at you in Wing Fortress Zone. I had no idea why everything in Sonic 2 involved eggs. Also, my little brother and I used to think we would get a jackpot in Casino Night Zone by chanting "Jackpot" backwards over and over again.

Also, I only just figured out a few months ago that Gerald Robotnik's speech in SA2 happened before he was going to be executed. I had no idea why he was chained up.

 

I still pronounce Knuckles as "Kee-noh-kles" (the lack of "C" isn't a typo), and even though I know how to spell his name correctly, I can't be arsed. :P

I think it's only that, really. I've started playing when I was 9, and on computer (shame on me :P), so I've always saw the stuff as it really is. Imma post later if I remember of something.

EDIT2: I also never had trouble with getting past that barrel in CNZ, because I could barely beat Marble Garden boss (I still have some troubles on that boss). And when I got through the boss (which took me a good 3 months with savestates), I discovered that site in english called "SWS2B". Tee hee. :P
