Why would you want to play Sonic Drift? I'd imagine this is going to be rather more fun than that ever was (though I did vaguely enjoy the sequel).

Fortunately, I never played the game as I didn't have a Game Gear.

Music from Sonic CD? Which soundtrack, American or Japanese?

Since it seems that Sumo Digital is awesome and they really do love us, I'm betting they put in music in from each.

  7. Oh good God. This makes just... wat...

Here's hoping a legitimate soundtrack comes out for this game. It definitely sounds like it needs it (Especially with Bentley Jones' new track, "So Much More" potentially becoming the main or ending theme for this game.)

Eff the soundtrack, I think Lycett just dropped a big hint about classic Sonic COURSES being in this.

That would certainly satisfy the appetite of those who scratched their heads wondering why we've only seen Heroes themed tracks to this point...

Considering Yuji Naka's love of Ferraris, I was kind of hoping that Sonic's car would sound like one. Yeah, Ferraris have had V8's. but I wouldn't describe them as "meaty".

Since Sumo is based on the UK, I'd say Japanese.

Then why did they link to an interview with Spencer Nilsen on the text "Sonic CD"?

Oh snap, owned. I really thought it was the Japanese one. Hataya still works for SEGA, while Spencer doesn't, so the rights will be easier to obtain from the former.

I'm interested in any remixes they make of old game tunes, heard the older stuff enough already to be bored of it (in superstars tennis)

I wish they had both, so that you can choose which one you want. I mean, the American version isn't total shit. They did make an effort on it.

360 and PS3 versions will have custom soundtracks enabled. It doesn't matter what music they put in the game.

    MIDI-to-SMPS-conversions, mostly. Takin' requests, too.
For those without those systems, it may matter. Like me.

I don't think either is shit to be honest, but the japanese one fits Sonic the most to me, especially the setting of CD.

Right, so far I'm eagerly awaiting this game. My faith is pretty strong at this point it will be a fantastic racer to play. It's been awhile since I've played a good racing game. Will buy. The fact the side missions are optional (from what I've heard) put my doubts at ease.

Classic kart racing action with SEGA's finest. Wonderful.
