I'd be more into this if the villain wasn't discount Robotnik. Even Stone solo would have been better.

 

I gotta agree, I enjoyed how he and Wade interacted in the second movie. That pairing could have been fun for them to toy with again. Hopefully "the buyer" ends up being a decent enough character.

I won't lie this did get a few chuckles out of me, but will have to see how it actually turns out.

Shared universe confirmed? Oh... wait... that means yet another one of these things NOOOOOOOO.

 

I wonder if the agents used to work for Robotnik too.

 

We'll need to see more, but, isn't this basically the same plot as Spider-Man: Homecoming?

Yes, but they're doing it backwards, this is Knuckles & Sonic 3.

 

Even more backwards is that Sonic 2 is actually Sonic 3
Man my head hurts.

 

This has me curious about what the tone of Sonic 3 is gonna be like. This looks incredibly goofy, but if they're really gonna go all in on the SA2 plot for the 3rd movie they can't possibly match the tone found in this and the movies, can they?

 

That's why I think they're going to have Maria's death be changed. It could be offscreen or it could only be implied. But the number one thing I think they'll do is make it so Maria dies from her illness and not from a gunshot wound. Or they could, y'know, have her live. Maybe she's an old lady in modern day.

 

Maria's actress seems to be teasing her death by reposting memes of how Sonic fans know she's gonna get shot on Instagram.
It's definitely not 100% proof. But means her being shot isn't ruled out.

 

It must be surreal getting a big role in a hyped up movie like this only for the fans to hope you get shot on-screen. At least she's taking it with good humor, eh?

 

She's a knower

 

She could launch Shadow's pod, get shot, Shadow sees it, and then the surprise reveal later in the movie is that she survived.

I wouldn't hate that.

IMHO, they need to is preserve the plot line of Shadow wanting revenge on humanity because he thinks humanity killed his only friend who was trying to protect him.

...If they want to change some of the details, it'll probably be okay.

Her getting shot by the military is the precise over-the-top anime drama nonsense that I think we're all craving to see realized on the big screen... but they could find other ways to make the story compelling but less shocking if they really need to.

All of that being said... I hope they go all in. LOL

 

I feel like Maria surviving would cheapen the part of Shadow's character arc where he decides to move on from his past. Granted, he did that like three times in a row, but it's still important.

 

Maria will die in Sonic 3 but when Sonic 4 adapts Sonic '06 and introduces Silver, they go back in time together to save her and she becomes the Iblis Trigger so Silver kills her again. Silver is voiced by Danny DeVito, and due to scheduling conflicts, Maria is recast as Dolph Lungdren.

 

I can see it now. What sleeps inside the ARK is not the Biolizard, but Black Doom. When Sonic and Shadow defeat him (without Shadow dying), newlyweds Robotnik and Stone steal his spaceship to enjoy a honeymoon among the stars.

Honestly, you can kill two sickly children with one agent by adapting 06 and just putting Amy in Elise's role. The only problem is that you need a strong casting choice for Mephiles, and Jim Carrey is a hard act to follow.

 

Obviously, it's Seth MacFarlane. That guy is distilled Mephiles.
