Don't get me wrong, I think Eggman is blatantly the better character out of the two, but I've seen a lot of love for Amy over the years too - not around here, but in other parts of the Sonic community and on places like deviantArt. Eggman will most likely win but I'd wager it'll be a much closer result than, say, Jet and Tails is now - which, as I'm sure we all predicted, is pretty much a landslide victory for Tails.
Because Chao are popular, and Omega has been largely ignored with the exception of Runners (but that game is even going so far as to potentially add Tikal as a playable character, I wouldn't say that means much). Charmy was also excluded despite Espio and Vector being included.
