You need to fix shading and that robotnick, because it's sonic 1 style.

Also, we doing sonic 3 style shading, so you need to change it.

But nice idea and good job so far :P

I have an idea. It could suck all the leaves up, and then shoot them out. When it sucks the leaves, it can also pull you towards it.

 

Thanks, Thundertimi, I'll work on it. I just don't know where Eggman should go inside it. =/ Should I add more shading, or just change the pallette?

Also, Fang could suck you in, and the leaves would clog the cannon and it would explode, maybe.

 

I think, you need add robotnick, what we made in this project.

Btw where is sonic sprite sheet?

The changing acts idea has already come into place, if you look at the level layout concept map. I'll try and make a couple sketches for title cards.

In the demo, the way he rode it looked like Earthworm Jim and his Pocket Rocket!

Where are the character sprites? You think those might be in this topic seeing how long we argued over them on the S4 site. Are we going to redo them from scratch? I'm a bit out of the loop here.

I will never be able to think of that sprite as being anything but a reproportioned variant on the Sonic Spinball sprite.



Also that dark blue, as people noted on the old forums, is going to be impossible to make out placed up against that blue mountain zone level.

I always preferred the Sonic 1 and 2 sprites. Maybe there should be some sort of compromise.

The one think I never liked of this sprite are those white shines near the mouth and on the head, because they have too much contrast with the near colours (a white dot is annoying if it appears out of nowhere in dark colours).

Also I'm I the only one who think that the palette may need some changes? For example, why all the shades of gray have light blue tones instead of being... gray? (I know this statemen is not very clear. To better understand this compare this sprite with the classic ones)


And, this may be just me, but even if it has cool animations the S3K sprite is fucking ugly compared to the Sonic 1/2 ones. It misses the fluidity that the other Sonic sprites have.

Seriously, it's a basic art and design no-no. That title screen and title card, they look very amateurish as a result of the symmetry.
