Oh my, the full length Big Arms remix by Cash Cash is just sheer music POWER in its best form, really love this track.

Thanks ever so much for the album, it got me to sleep last night!

Well gee, what's stopping you from doing it yourself? :P

P.S. Here it is. There's a gap in the disc 3 listing because that one page still seems to be missing in the archive at the top of the thread. Also, I'm really curious to hear a translation of those "Notes from Sound Team" pages. (And I apologize for any typos as I did this..I'm sure they're there somewhere.)

Wait wait wait, is there a misspelling on the album? Radical Highway's remixes are listed as "Vengeance is Mine" on the Wiki page, and that's certainly not how "vengence" is spelled.

Actually that IS how it's spelled. Spell Check is your friend =P

Are you telling me SEGA has lied to me all these years?

Anyway, download is at 58%, hooray for MEGAUPLOAD intentionally making me wait!

  9. Yes, they have. Engrish occasionally pops up in song titles, their mispelling of vengeance always used to bug the crap out of me. At least they fixed it for the Generations album.

    Long-term happiness
Very nice, saved. =P Have a couple of looping ADXes from me in return (made before the OST came out, so lol Youtube transcode):

http://overlord.digibase.ca/Sonic%20Generations%203DS%20-%20Cash%20Cash%20-%20Big%20Arms%20%5BClassic%5D.adx - Cash Cash Big Arms [Classic] (only has the bits from the remixed tune that were in the original track)
http://overlord.digibase.ca/Sonic%20Generations%203DS%20-%20Cash%20Cash%20-%20Big%20Arms%20%5BFull%5D.adx - Cash Cash Big Arms [Full]

    An awesome OST! My highlights:

    * City Escape Act 1 - Fuck yeah the one from SoS. Been waiting for a better quality version of this for MONTHS. =P
    * Crisis City Act 1 - Ohtani took a brilliant track and made it AMAZING by ending on the sped-up version. Love it!
    * Rooftop Run Act 1 - The sped-up version in this one was included perfectly, too.
    * Title (Short ver) - Nice to have simply as a remix of the actual Sonic 1 TITLE SCREEN rather than the end credits.
    * Big Arms - Non-transcoded version of the Youtube video. What more is there to say? One of the best tracks in the entire series.
    * Biolizard - Richard Jacques has done stirling work throughout this OST, but Biolizard has gone from a "meh" to an "awesome" with this remix.
    * Silver Rival Battle - I know this one is basically the same as the existing gamerip, but on listening to this again (never really bothered before now), this is actually a decent track, even if the source material is largely forgettable. Jacques again...
    * Time Eater, both parts - I loved this track as soon as I heard it in the first trailer - I assumed from the guitar work it was Jun's, but Richard's really surprised me here.
    * Cutscene 1 - The cutscene rips were what I was wanting this OST for, and it hasn't disappointed. From 1's Time Eater remixed collection, to 3's quiet suspense, 4's creepyness then jagged synth, 7's post-defeat Death Egg Robot & 8's meat-of-the-story collection, these are all excellent. Yes, even 9. =P

Heh. Most of my listed favourites have Richard Jacques involved - I'd better stop before I completely turn into CommanderZorg. =P All in all, bloody excellent. I think I might get this CD set for my birthday in just over a month =P

  11. Goddamn, a little over 2,300 downloads in a little over 24 hours, with around 700 downloads of the scans. >.>

Of course, when I deleted it, my rip of the Colors soundtrack was at nearly 9,000 in about a year.

Finally, a chance to listen! Prepare for an unusually long post from me (I'm skilled at brevity)

    • DISC 1: There's not too much to say, seeing as we've already had most of this one.
    • I like the way Sky Sanctuary Modern ends. Very pretty.
    • Tony and Ted are having entirely too much fun on City Escape Modern! It's almost too rad.
    • The Modern mixes of the three Dreamcast Era levels all end in the same way their original OST releases ended (CE with "I'll make it through" and the two SHs with unresolved chords).
    • Rooftop Run Classic. The new ending only makes it THAT MUCH MORE PARTAYYYY
    • Rooftop Run Modern's ending, however, feels tacked-on. I know it's the same ending as the SoS (?) performance, but in this recording it feels off, the way it transitions to the ending.

DISC 2: I finally get to listen to the 3DS soundtrack!
    • What's with that percussion sound effect in Classic Casino Night (the one with a slight *ping* to it, starts the piece off and continues throughout on the upbeat)? Threw me off entirely. Forget that, what's with the entire song's percussion?
    • There's a lot happening in Emerald Coast Classic.
    • IF THEY REALLY LOVED THE FANS THEN "VENGEANCE IS MEIN" WOULD BE PROPERLY MISSPELLED BAWF
Also, the Classic version is the way to go.
    • Contrary to many an opinion, I loved Back 2 Back from Sonic Rush, and it's still good. Also, Water Palace Modern now with less shitbird!
    • Tropical Resort Modern. Love that lead synth, it fits perfectly in my opinion.
    • I guess the new Supporting Me ain't bad. Didn't harbor too much nostalgia for the original, but it's a good track.
    • Egg Emperor was, and still is, the king of Eggmechs for me. + - Even if Eggman technically never piloted it.   His hardcore theme has done the impossible: become even more hardcore.
    • Headphones for the Special Stage remix, people.
    • I really despise what they did with the 3DS credits theme. They spliced the tracks together, without any shortening at all. Don't make the theme longer, make the credits shorter!
    • The Super Sonic Racing remix sounds so lonely without the samples, dunnit?
    • Mission 3 (combo of S3 Balloon Park and SH Quick Race) ends with Quick Race's OST ending as well. They really knew what they were doing.
    • Not to blow my own horn when people have already done it for me, but I so called Mission 3. Anyway, the rhythm always throws me off, but I really don't care anyway because I love the song.

DISC 3: Mostly just bosses, rivals, and cutscenes.
    • Stardust Speedway JP doesn't have the muted intro? But that was the awesome part!
    • Circuit Freq makes up for Radical Highway Modern with an awesome For True Story remix.
    • Still don't like the Open Your Heart remix.
    • The resounding conclusion this thread seems to have is "Richard Jacques for great victory", and I concede with the Egg Dragoon track.
    • ALL THE HUB THEMES, ALL IN ONE PLACE, YOSH
    • Aaaaand everything else is miscellaneous nostalgia filler

Overall, the nostalgia puts this soundtrack through the roof, with scarce misses. 9/10

also, PROTIP: I know fully well how to spell "vengeance", and it was a joke dammit.

I downloaded the soundtrack, put it on my Zune, and listened to the whole thing at work this afternoon... and it's glorious. Simply GLORIOUS. ;_; Really makes me want to play the game. My favorite track at the moment is the "next-gen" remix of Casino Night Zone.

Also, this soundtrack did something I never thought was possible: it made Super Sonic Racing NOT lame. O_O

Now that I'm done being ecstatic over the extended Going Down section for Speed Highway, I gotta ask. Has anyone ever figured out where the vocals are sampled from (if anything at all), and/or what they're saying?

Top comments of this video will answer the latter part of your question.

You want from "Listen" to "makes" for the original version, but only up to "mostly" for the Generations version.

    Goin' Down

Looking at the scans, I find it hilarious that not only is Jun blind to his own S3&K tracks composition-wise, but that the drowning jingle's (here as "Timer") composer is also shafted to SEGA, even though the Sonic Colors soundtrack release already confirmed it as being Yukifimi Makino's.

That being said, there are a few choice credits that should be looked at for Sonic 3 investigation:

-City Escape Act 1 - The "Composed by" credit is simply Jun Senoue. While it stands to reason that the Endless Mine sample can be struck out for being just a sample, the fact that Seaside Hill Act 2 has separate composition credits ["Composed by Jun Senoue (Seaside Hill), Naofumi Hataya (Ocean Palace)"] suggests that they could have gone through the trouble to credit City Escape and Endless Mine separately (to Jun and SEGA, respectively), but didn't. I think this is worth holding onto, especially when you see the next one.

-Challenge / Mission 4 - Even with the removal of Quick Race (from "Challenge / Mission 2"), the track's composition credit remains exactly the same: Composed by Jun Senoue & SEGA. It should also be noted that Mission 2's composition credit also didn't receive the same treatment as Seaside Hill Act 2, even though both tracks are very much there to the point of complementing each other. Even though all Sonic 3&K tracks (and non-Nakamura Sonic 1&2 tracks and seemingly all Chaotix tracks) are being shafted to SEGA, Jun Senoue is technically credited here for Balloon Park: you heard it here first, people.

The soundtrack is lovely. The shortened title screen made me jizz. Thanks!

What? All of them? So, like, the entire soundtrack then, minus the very small amount of original compositions?

Yeah. You are the only one.

As in every single song, yeah your the only one. everyone here at least likes 1-3 of the tracks in generations.

  20. Apparently I screwed up AGAIN on the booklet scans. I'm just taking the damn thing down; go to VGMdb if you want to see them.
