    This disappoints me, only because I just bought it on Sunday with the 10% off code and haven't even finished the 22GB download yet. Sucks that you can't get a refund on non-downloaded content.

    Oh well, good news otherwise.

    Why wouldn't you buy a physical copy of Yakuza 4? Its cheap enough. Like other users here I hope we get a Yakuza 1 & 2 HD re-release seeing as 2 is my favorite in the franchise. Though I heard Yakuza 5 is like huge compared to 4. So we shall see.

    It's $25 USED on Amazon, versus paying $18 digital with faster load times since it's running from a hard drive. Not sure why I'd buy a disc for an inferior experience.
    Sure, it's tied to my account, but I don't sell my old games anyway.

  4. I'm 100% digital, if you live in an area with decent internet then there's no reason not to go digital these days. My 1TB HDD is nearly full on my PS3, I have almost 200 games on it. It's so liberating for me because I have very limited shelf space for games and I have a two year old kid who constantly wants to fuck around with my shit, but the biggest reason is because I always traded in all my games after I was done with them, and I'd always come to regret it later on when I'd want to replay a game. I've bought No More Heroes at least 3 times. So Yakuza 5 bein digital only doesn't bother me at all. Though I wish Yakuza 3 was available on PSN, there's really no reason why they shouldn'tve put it up with 4 and Dead Souls. It probably would've been better PR for 5 than Dead Souls.

    Some new details, still no release date though: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/08/25/yakuza-5s-western-release-to-include-all-japanese-dlc/

    All DLC will be included, as well as the Virtua Fighter 2 port which can be played online and the Taiko no Tatsujin game. Meaning that this is also the first Taiko game to get localized since 2004 (2005 if you count the Donkey Konga games). :v:

    I'm still not understanding if this means they are RELEASING all the DLC or it's all in the game by default.

    Another piece of data from today is that the game is available for pre-order on PSN now. (At least in the US) Regular price will be $39.99 USD, but pre-order discount is 15% off:
    https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/cid=UP0177-NPUB31658_00-YAKUZA5000000001?smcid=psblog:::ps-blog-2015-08-25-playstation-store-update-406

    No release date announced yet, (unless December 30th is not a placeholder) but it pre-ordered successfully for me.

    SEGA announced two more Yakuza games for next year, which will be the series' ten year anniversary. The first is Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the first game with additional content:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emNKHq1sNqE

    More details about the remake here, it'll have an extra chapter that shows what Nishiki was up to while Kiryu was in jail and Goro Majime will have a much bigger presence: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/09/15/yakuza-kiwamis-new-scenarios-fill-in-various-gaps-more-spotlight-time-for-majima/

    Will be released on January 21st, 2016. They also announced Yakuza 6, which will be released in 2016 as well. A demo will be included with Kiwami.

    At the very least, making the Yakuza 5 sequal avaliable only downloadable cuts down on a lot of publishing costs from Sega, somewhere in the millions, which is good.

    But if it's exclusive, obviously it means they are testing the waters to see if there is enough demand, and if so, they will release to multi-platforms

    They're still testing the waters 9 years since they started the series? :v:

    Yakuza has always been PlayStation exclusive, with the exception of a late port of the first two games on Wii U.
