Basically, I broke my laptop's monitor, so I connected it to my PC's. the DOS appears on the PC monitor, but when it goes to Windows, it's back to the broken one. Any help?

Try what Lobotomy said or if you have Windows 7 press winkey+P till it enables clone mode where it's the same on both monitors.

I'm afraid it does nothing :\ thanks for the help, though.

Alternatively, a way to access my laptop's HDD so I can extract porn the various files I have in it would also be nice, any help on how I can achieve this?

You can connect the laptop to the same router or LAN as your other computer, and share the porn files folder. After that, start menu, network, shared documents, etc. Then make a cuppa joe, and sit back as the extreeeemely long copying process begins.

Take a picture of your keyboard (without being out of focus) and it may help us determine what keys to use to switch to the external monitor. For example, HP laptops have a little graphic of a monitor on F4, as the Fn function, so if it's an HP laptop just do Fn+F4.

How badly broken is your screen?

Is it visable at bear minimum?

If you can please let me know what version of windows you are on I would happily make you a step by step walkthrough on how to clone your display.

Hey, bumping this thread just to give it a ocnclusion and show everyone I'm an idiot.

The keyboard shortcut was Fn+F5. I pressed it, but nothing.

this week out of boredom, I tried again, and by accident I pressed that combination more than once. It worked.

You see, you must keep pressing Fn and then repeatedly F5 to choose what monitor it appears on.

I am stupid and did not realize it. Durr. thanks anyways guys, you tried to be helpful.
