This game was found on a development kit. This is a link to assembler where the topic is posted: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?47966-Toejam-amp-Earl-3-Dreamcast-Beta Here are some pics for those of you that aren't registered to Assembler boards: On TV Loading Screen 1st Screen. 1st Level. So, will this ever see the light of day, even if it has to be sold to be ripped? ASSEMbler is notorious for bragging hoarders who have no intention of ever letting anyone else play with their toys.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they also the ones responsible for leaking that early Sonic X-Treme prototype?
I loved this game back in the day on Xbox. I was really hoping to play it on Dreamcast back when it was announced. I'd like to play it again if this is released.
I wonder if reverse engineering those game files would teach us anything else about low level Dreamcast stuff.
You don't have to lump them all together. Sometimes it is understandable that people want to try and recoup some money they spent obtaining the prototype. Also many of the donators were Assembler forum members. Edit: Not to say I always agree with they way they do things, but there are a lot of great members there who care about preservation just as much as we do.
From what I can tell, most of the controversy around Assemblergames has more to do with the founders/mods of the community (Who allegedly want fame, glory and money more than actual game preservation) than the community as a whole. And the whole Sonic Xtreme thing isn't the only dramabomb Assemblergames got caught in. I'll be more than willing to vouch for some key community members who have a history of delivering, though.
I wonder how closely it plays to the one on the xbox? I also wonder how far into completion the game was before it was switched.
Assembler and Yakumo are known scammers, and there are a few people on the forum selling prototype repros (when they get banned, they reregister under a different name and continue).
Awesome news. Is this format widely known? I see the upload is a regular (?) .CDI image... EDIT: I wonder who "Iwei" is. CODE: Code (Text): Presents_For_Iwei_
