Hey, I just pulled my old game gear out - it used to work fine but strangely shows a very white screen now. Is this a common problem? The contrast switch does nothing, except change the tone of the screen.

The last time I tried to open a game gear, I ended up breaking it because it's got some weird, God-forbidden screw in the back that I can't for the life of me figure out how to take out. I don't have a soldering gun, nor do I have the sufficient funds to purchase one (unless it's like $20. Then I'll go for it.) And if I can get advice on where to buy these capacitors and more specific shiz, I'll do it, but you guys have to know, I am a complete dumbshit with electric shit, I've never so much as installed a modchip, so I'd love advice.
