Oh shit. I did sort of see this coming, but at the same time, when I did see it, I was a little surprised. I honestly don't know what happened. Legal issues? Payment issues?

I already asked about this, and I didn't get an answer either. And I was in the middle of downloading the 920 Sonic CD proto. I had 9 files left :).

Yo. Hosting stuffs. They're tellin' me I have to agree to take the "copyrighted roms" of of sonar.heranbago.com/roms/ before they give me my account back. I have most of SonAR backed up locally. Not all the disc images, but most of them. I've totally got all the cart dumps too which is #1 priority.
I might just set up my own server, but that'll take me some time. See this thread about me being an idiot about setting up a server.

If someone else is willing to host it though I'd be totally happy. If not, SonAR's... "moving," for lack of a better word.

e: update
it looks like my account will get turned on tomorrow and I'll get to back that shit up.

If anyone has the Sonic & Knuckles PC collection with the screen saver, someone please give me this picture:

The one in the background. I remember it being in color though, hmm.

Trapped in my own thoughts.
Two stageplays, a screenplay, and an album
I can't wait for the site to be available again. It's really nice to have access to all the sonic roms at one site without having to look all over the place at different sites for different systems and such.

Well, Heran has been rather busy with uploading all the ROM files. The MegaDrive ROMs and the various ISOs are not uploaded yet, but the rest of SonAR is. Keep your shirt on, we can only do things so fast. =P

Uh, uh wait. Isn't Warez hole hosted in hacking cult, which in turn is hosted by me?

Let me show you something real quick:

[root@u15191511 ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 496M 326M 145M 70% /
none 249M 0 249M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hda7 27G 25G 1.4G 95% /home
/dev/hda5 4.9G 1.7G 3.3G 34% /usr
/dev/hda6 4.9G 2.4G 2.6G 49% /var

In other words, I'm pretty pressed for space right now.

Yeah I told Heran on Skype that you only had 2GB and he was like "OSHI" as Sonar is over 6GB =P

I'm sure he won't have any trouble finding another host if he needs one. ;) I know he already got offers from a few other people. :(

Torrenting some of the ISOs will save alot of space.

Torrenting could save space, yes, but it also requires that at least one person is seeding at all times or the file is impossible to download. Would you really trust others to seed for as long as the site is up? Most people just quit after a 1:1 ratio, many quit even sooner.

Though not ideal, it seems more feasible from a technical standpoint to use Rapidshare or Megaupload to host the ISOs and then just link to them from the page; a link takes a lot less storage space than an ISO.

Uh, wow. I did not know CulT was this short on storage =/
I'm gonna move some of the larger model files off the server and onto another that I have some hosting on (but has a no warez/roms/pr0n TOS) and nuke some other junk.

EDIT: Alright, I moved out some old junk and all the model files, and the space I freed up totals 159.7 MB
Damn.

I can make a day of recompressing all my videos, especially my E3 ones, which I wanted to make perfect quality, and see what I can do.

See this is the price you pay once you host the top sonic community sites.

EDIT: OK I'm making a check of the top sites as far as space goes

5.5G ./sonic-cult.org
3.6G ./nightsintodreams.com
3.4G ./evilboris.sonic-cult.net
1.6G ./s2beta.com
1.3G ./drx.pl

So I'll need to do some cleaning up on these sites, mine inparticular.
