Does anyone know if there's a Sonic and Knuckles Collection noCD crack? And where?

I believe Sonic Hacking Wiz Pro had an option to stop the CD check, but that's probably not what your looking for.

I used to have one that I got off eDonkey... I'd look there.

But I have the physical disk, so... :P

I downloaded S3&K from Datafull. When I started the game it asked for a CD. However, after press OK the game ran, as like the CD was in it. :/ The CD is only for check that you have the game. BTW, I later disabled the checking with S3KEdit since it was annoying: why do it if the game runs without worrying about the CD? :P

I have some save editor-type thing somewhere that allows you to disable the CD check.

Create a file called "s3k.ini" in your Windows directory.

    Put this in it:
Another useful option to add is "DebugMode=1". (Fixed button controls: buttons A, B, and C map to numpad 1, 2, and 3.)

That worked perfectly, for the no cd bit anyway. All the debug seems to do is activate the level select screen, I don't have a B button at all, or a gravity button. Thank you for letting me know how toi use it with out a cd, Yes I have lost the CD for 5 years in a row before I knew about emulation, basicly thanks. *uses debug cheat to get past CNZ*

Make sure your numpad is set to the number keys. (Num lock light is on.)

The 1 key on your numpad reverses gravity, or scrolls though items. Like the A button on the Genesis.
The 2 key on your numpad toggles item placement mode. Like the B button on the Genesis.
The 3 key on your numpad makes you jump or place and object. Like the C button on the Genesis.
All the other debug mode stuff (scrolling backwards though items) still works.

But you have to have num lock on.

Those may be the equivalent of the A,B,C buttons, but they do not work for debug mode. The only thing they can do is change the character in level select.

You also cannot use them to jump, glide, fly, insta-shield, or spindash.

The "Esc" key also works as a B button.

Strange, I can jump, glide, etc. with those buttons :/ Check again... And yes, ESC is the B button... As well as the jump button is C (except some places where it's Start)...

Oh, I just remembered something special about S&K Collection's debug mode.

In the special stage, hit 2/B/Esc. The shadow mesh with change to white (and the black on the "Collect blue spheres" text, too) and you can walk though red spheres. I think you can only do that if you enter the special stage though a ring, though... there's some kind of limitation like that.

I have a laptop, how would I use this? If I use the Fn key plus the "numpad" 1, 2, or 3, they act as directional keys.

The B key also does not act as the B button.

Daemon Tools... use it to mount your image to a virtual drive.

    While we're on the topic...

Anyone know what would cause this not to play any sound or music at all?

Maybe it has something to do with the sound card. Sometimes hardware can play "bad jokes". :( Stupid compatibility issues...

On my laptop, there is a setting in the BIOS which forces the numpad numbers to work when num lock is on. It makes Fn irrelevant. S&K Collection works fine with it.

    Edit: Spelling: "irrelievent".
