So unfortunately I can't make it to the symphony tomorrow. But I'm sitting on two tickets, and I figured I would post here first. If you're interested in going and couldn't afford tickets at full price, I'm selling my two tickets for $80. I know it's last minute, but if anyone is interested send me a pm and I'll transfer over the tickets to your Ticketmaster account after I get the payment via Paypal. Also mods, if this isn't the appropriate thread for me to post in feel free to move it. I just thought it'd make more sense to post it in the symphony thread.

Sorry you weren't able to go @Ravenfreak . =/ Hope you were able to give your tickets to someone and that you'll get to go another time.

Update to this: I finally got my poster today. Better late than never, I suppose... but now I need a frame. >.>

Damn, I didn't even realise the merch store had opened until catching up on this thread...and the selections is pretty anaemic. Is this all that's available at the venues themselves, too?

The KC show only had a couple items so I got the poster. (I couldn't justify buying another Sonic shirt since I have more than I can wear in a wash cycle anyways.) Also they only had one stand with two people running it. I guess after 30 years this brand still hasn't realized that Sonic fans like merch? It was probably multiple hours of people standing in line to get something from the store. I waited 20 minutes and I was ahead of 90% of the line.

For those who have went, how were people dressed? I know it's a Sonic thing, but it's still going to see an orchestra play, so we're people dresses a little nicer than usual?

    Basically... What I wrote here

But the long and short of it, as long as you're not wearing anything offensive or something you'd find on an only fans page, you'll be fine.

I just went in T-Shirt and jeans, and saw LOADS of people dressed the same.
Some others went in suits and dresses,
Some others have gone in cosplay (I'd advise against this, just because a few people said they couldn't really relax and there's a bit of a risky you can ruin someone elses view depending on your outfit).

For the next one... I'd... Like, to wear something a bit more formal. But if it comes to it, I'll just resort to jeans and a shirt.

Welp since the Symphony is returning to Chicago, I'm going to try my damn hardest to go to that showing! As soon as the tickets go on sale, I'm snagging them up. Good to know that a simple t-shirt and jeans is suitable. I don't have any nice dress clothes, and I was hoping to wear one of my Sonic t-shirts along with my Sonic hoodie.

This was my experience as well. One dude straight up looked like Sonic Man from Sonic '06 lol. Don't recall many "formal/fancy" looking people.

To echo what @Ravenfreak said, a return date for Chicago has been announced for this year, along with many others for the rest of this year and into January 2025:

The Orlando one is mildly tempting... >.>

Vast majority of people at both the Seattle and Portland shows, including myself, were wearing their best Sonic swag, and there were multiple cosplayers at both (including Silver, and even Maria). But as long as it’s not offensive, you should be good. ;>

  12. When I was at the Symphony in Kansas City, I saw clothing ranging from T-shirts and shorts all the way to a three-piece suit, so you can pretty much wear whatever you want as long as it's decent.

I'm a bit disappointed the Symphony's not coming back to Missouri this year. It coming here at all was a surprise, but it was nice to have such a major event happen in my state. I could go to Chicago or Nashville, but those are a bit too out of the way for me justify going, especially since I've been to the Symphony before.

@Ravenfreak I hope you can make it to the Chicago showing. I had a great time at the one in KC and I'm certain you won't regret going.

The one in October? If I end up going I’ll give you a shout, I’m sitting at about 70/30 if I wanna go cause one of my best friends lives in the Chicago area.

Hopping on the Eurostar for the showing in Paris next weekend and I'm already eyeing up the September performance in London. It'd be great if this thing could keep going for a while honestly, would also like them to bring out some even deeper cuts like Trap Tower from SegaSonic or a 3D Blast medley.

Its returning to Atlanta as well, I might be tempted to attend again if the lineup changes at all but we'll see.

Or if they manage to get Johnny to that showing this time, I will be ordering a ticket in a heartbeat if they do

Is it worth getting there at the doors even though the show won't start for another hour and a half? My cousin and I are going, and we're not sure if we should get there around when the doors open or just like, a half hour before the show starts.

I got there maybe 15 minutes before the doors opened (doors opened at 6:30 PM, show started at 7:30) and was fine. It did get pretty crowded in the area between the doors outside/doors to the theater lobby, though I think that was just because it was cold out and everyone was trying to get in to avoid the cold. Might be different in your case.

I think it depends on how you feel being cramped together with tons of other people for a while and/or if you want merch. The merch line got long REALLY fast when the doors opened, but you can also buy the stuff online (albeit it may take a while; I bought a poster during Cyber Monday and didn't get it until early February). The line to meet Jackbotnik (the Eggman cosplayer guy I saw) got long too, though I don't remember which show(s) he's going to be at in the near future.

We got there early which was good since the line to get in was super long. Also it was fun to just get to experience everything. There were lots of people dressed up or wearing fun Sonic shirts. There's no need to show up super early but the atmosphere was fun. I am a hardcore introvert and even I enjoyed talking to a few people there.

The line for the merch store was so long I imagine less than 10% of people got through it all night. So if that matters to you, then I'd recommend getting there early. I did it during the 30 minute intermission and it took 30 minutes to get through a dozen people.

Just got back from the Paris show, had a fun time apart from some complaints that have already been mentioned here before, in addition to one person next to me dancing way too vigorously during the orchestra section and also people trying to force crowd claps in the same section.

Seeing Ohtani live was great, but unfortunately he wasn’t available for signings afterwards. That said, we were treated to an acoustic version of One Way Dream after Live and Learn which I don’t think I’ve seen mentioned for any prior shows?

Anyway, had a blast and strongly considering grabbing tickets for the London one to attend a show where I can actually join in the conversations people are having rather than being a Brit surrounded by the French.

By the way, the quality of the graphic transfers on the apparel and tote bag are shockingly bad for the prices the merch was being sold at - I don’t suppose anyone knows or some kind of treatment for transfers like this that can save them from deteriorating almost instantly?
