I vote A. The red and the dark bluish-gray give the area more of a dreary look, which fits in with the cold look. I think the green and orange look a bit out of place in a snow/ice level.

A, for reasons stated by LocalH.

  6. I would have voted A, but I really dislike that dark blue at the top of the horizon.

I voted A, for the same reasons as the others.

I think I recognise the foreground art. It looks very similar to the "South Pole" level on Quackshot. Am I right? If not, just tell me to shut up

I voted for A, though I'd say that the mountains at the bottom of that one should be darker, really. Since the red sunset/glow/whatever seems to be coming from behind them, I'd think that they'd be a lot darker than that. They look fine in B, though, becuase the background colours are that much lighter in that one.

So, yeah. In conclusion, I prefer A's sky, but the mountains need to be darker for it to work, IMO.

Both look good. And both look suspiciously similar to the background of the ice levels from Ecco 1. :(

You know what would rock? Applying a cycling palette to that background, for the ultimate psychadelic experience.

Both are good, but B seems less unique and doesn't contrast as wel as A does.

    My vote is for A.

A, for the same reasons as everyone else. I just looks more like an ice level that way.

Shame you can't have act 1, Daytime, with gradient B, and act 2 Evening, with gradient A. But my god that art is good, I couldn't ask for anymore than that. A it is :D

Actually you can, if this is only a pallet change.

I like A better. B seems to make the scene a bit too bright, although A's background could be a little brighter.

Great job on the gradients, too, Rika, and maybe you could take QJimbo's idea to heart, as that'd be pretty dang neat.
