Collision Chaos from Sonic CD. I like to just bounce off objects, speed up ramps, and climb to the top-most tiers of the level. It is one of the most fun levels I played because of the pin-ball-like physics that classic Sonic had. (Maybe if everyone votes for levels that feature pin-ball physics, SEGA will finally put the physics in again in a new game?) Too bad I can't vote. I don't have a facebook, nor do I want to have one using my actual name. Would it be wise just to use my Sonic Retro username instead?

Well, it's proven I haven't played enough of Sonic's canon games (including Sonic CD, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Heroes, ...). Ah well, I answered for what I could. I think my overall favorites are CPZ and Jungle Joyride act1 :D

Oh, and I didn't know they had a link to Sonic Retro on their FB account whatchamacallit. That's kinda neat.

 

Nothing in this and the next 8 universes is goin' to ever get me to join a site like Facebook, but, eh, it's kinda cool they ask.

I will butcher this quote. From the top: How can anyone deny that this isn't the quintessential evil base? Chemical Plant Zone had a massive earworm *hums along*. I don't care what all of you say, CNZ had the most evil gimmicks. Flying Battery Zone is the greatest 2d zone ever. Another earworm, awesome gimmicks, and an overall badass series of battles. Stardust Speedway. Farthest I have ever got in SCD, so, I am biased. I played original SA, and I liked the Orca chase. I like the idea of Sonic outrunning a truck, even if it is possible to cheat the truck. Any with No Pref, I didn't play. Spagonia, to be honest Spagonia drove me ballistic, but the ambience I liked. Though if they ever make a sequel, remove the don't break a thing missions.

The rest of the games I have no real preference for. Sonic 3 is by far my favorite game. The only level I don't like in Sonic 3 is Angel Island Act 2. Everything else is awesome.

Deep Woods (Despite never playing the game, I made the choice based of the level music I liked best from the OST. This one got it over Misty Lake.)

06 was actually a toss up for me between Flame Core and Aquatic Base because, despite the horrible nature of the game's... well, almost everything, those two were the most interesting levels in terms of level design (as in... I liked their themes... ruined volcanic landscape and underwater base with sea life on the outside.)

 

Well, my opinions on stages hasn't changed much over the years, TBH. I did make a new writeup for the wall post though.

Nothing very Earth-shattering here.

 

They forgot Hot Shelter for Sonic Adventure. =P It probably would have been my pick if they included it...the level's huge, and each character that goes through it has a different part to go through.

 

It's also the only level where Big the Cat can actually do anything.

Oil Ocean - This zone transfixed me when I first played it. There just seems to be something epic about the whole scene.

Hidden Palace - I love it because I can't play it. Yes, I know about Sonic 2 Long Version.

Ice Cap - Features the most beautiful art and music in the entire series. Well, that's just my opinion.

Lava Reef - The art is awesome and the second act really left an impact on me. No really, it did.

Sonic CD
Stardust Speedway - Damn, this is just awesome. Take the ambiance of Starlight zone and spread the improved music and art across four timezones!

Sonic Adventure
Sky Deck - It was buggy as hell and played like ass, but it was EPIC. Seriously, were talking about traversing the outer deck of the Egg Carrier as it turns in air and even nosedives.

Sonic Adventure 2
City Escape - There are too many levels in SA2 to pick a favorite, but I remember this being an amazing way to start a game.

Holy shit, Batman! Props for Sega for doing something awesome.
