    Back to the egg wasn't bad at all for your very first edit of it.
    There were some nice pieces of level layout already there.

    Thanks, but you know, I still actually have the current file of my s3k hack. I could have it postponed, when I'll eventually begin to work on it again, IF I do. The reason why I stopped the s3k project was because of the loss of motivation; I loved editing it. I got up to marble garden, but after that, I just felt like doing something else. But yeah, thanks anyways. :D

    I've always enjoyed the space/night time zones in Sonic games, so I'm really glad to see the Death Egg extended, especially since it looks like the Chemical Plant Zone (my favourite Sonic 2 level).

    Alright, here's some of the features that will either definatly be in there, or already in there.. First off:

    Emerald hill =(changed to) Shallow Meadows

    Chemical Plant = Toxatious City

    Metropolis (all 3 acts) = Genocide City [Actually, Torn down from the old version, and currently being reconstructed]

    Aquatic Ruins = Sunset Ruins

    Casino Night = Majestic City

    Oil Ocean = Oil Ghostown

    Wood [Yes. :P ] = Great Tree Tops

    Hidden Palace = Lost Times

    Hill Top = Red Top [Name-pending]

    Skychase = Aereopolis

    Wing Fortress = The Showdown

    Death Egg (acts 1, 2) = Death Egg

    Death Egg (Act 3) = Death Egg Finale

    Features:

    -Palette changes
    -Many, many tile changes
    -Layout Changes
    - More (I can't name at the top of my head)

    And when I first started this, I actually began working off the Delta 2, then onwards, etc. I want to start on a fresh S2 Rom, it's just, So much has been done, so much has been changed, and so perfect in my expectations. I've scrapped Every single layout act, except for wing fortress, which even there I'll begin a few changes. I've scrapped a couple of levels completley, and countless more things. I don't know exactly when I'll be done, but unlike my previous hack, Back to the egg, I won't quit. I've once said the same thing about the s3k, but this time, I mean it.

    And if you're willing, I'd like you to be my beta tester again, Sith. :)

    XD Na. I think I might actually have a few names. Something along the lines of "Aurora-something" Red Aurora, Aurora Peak, etc.

    Honestly, I wished you would have continued with "Back to the egg" instead though.
    There are already more S2 hacks than anything else.

    Well, Like I said, I have still have the file up. Who says I can't work on both hacks at the same time? :P I'm just a bit busy resurrecting this at the moment. :D


    And I've just got into the habit of SonED again. Just adjusting. Because, as some people might not know, But I think I told you, sith, That everything you saw/played In Back To The Egg, I did every single thing in ESEII. Except the palettes. That came in with PCXpal. So, just mainly adjusting back, I'll stil, at some points, continue with S3K: BTTG.

    There will be alot of music remixes.
    So far, I've coverd:

    Aurora Peak [Final name, replacing 'red top']'s
    Majestic City's
    Toxatious City's
    And Shallow meadow's.



    Also, New Level-Ahoy! --

    Green Hill Zone! Though, I've just recently ported it into the game secessfuly, And all I need is a new name, palette change, layout, etc. So yeah. You'll start out in Green Hill Zone, then go onto Emerald Hill, and so on. :P Image: [​IMG]

    A Few last in-progress pictures for maybe quite some time:

    [​IMG] Eerie Swamp's earliest work in progress progress. Tried to make it look more swampy-ish, Of course set at time time, and the bright/light peach color in the background mountains actually now glow from bright to darkness, and I'm currently trying to do the same with the Stars,

    [​IMG] Very, VERY early Great tree top progress. I tried to do in what I did in one of my drawings, and that was to make it eventually work up to a visible sky, instead of trees. Also, this palette may be changed.

    Comments, criticisms, etc.


    And another note, if you havn't noticed, I'm putting image/updates on my first post too, for people too lazy to scroll down and such. :P

    Ah, thanks. And I know, I know, some might be original, some might not. I don't really have any sort of ASM knowledge, I'll tell you the truth, but with whatever little hacking expirence I have, I'm putting together. I'll try my best to keep up the pace, though.

    Sorry for double posting, and all, but here, I've added yet another new level. :D The carnival Night Zone from Sonic 3. This will probably be the final new level. Right now, I'm pending for a name, and alot of other things. Here's what all I've done so far. [​IMG]

    I post these pictures (Like GHZ, CNZ), even though they're nothing maybe all that special yet, to back up my claims with proof of new levels, for those who don't believe, and all that.

    I don't think Eerie swamps is a good name for a zone, not at all. Still, you should try and make a level name that fits a swamp, not just places it out in the blue. Try something Sonic CD-ish. Like Swamp Swingabout or Swamp Soak Zone. Go crazy. Find a nice name , I don't care if it's called Granny's Swamp Zone. As long as it fits the level, it fits err. . .

    The game? Ah, any who. I have a name for the err. . . Carnival Night port. "Bouncing Zone." It'll fit if you make the zone heavily dependent on springs to get through it. Or, if you make the background move up and down as if that level's a giant badnik. That'd be cool. . .

    Also, I'd like to apply for a job as a BETA tester, I'll make sure to email you on how I like it. If the job's taken, ok.

    Shallow Meadows - Emerald Hill Zone
    Frozen Cavern - Mystic Cave
    crepuscle circus - Carnival night Zone
    Timberforest - Wood Zone
    Mire Swamps - Green Hill Zone
    Genocide City - The 3 Metropolis Acts (Metropolis = Scrapped)
    Forgotten Times - Hidden Palace
    Aurora Peak - Hill Top Zone
    Abandond Plant - Oil Ocean
    Death Egg - [Remains] Death Egg
    Death Egg Finale - [Act 3] Death Egg
    Acronycal Arches - Aquatic Ruins
    Royale City - Casino Night Zone
    Toxatious - Checmical Plant
    Altitonant City - SkyChase/Star Light Zone Mix
    The Showdown - Wing fortress

    And here's a one-lined flow-chart of the Order of the Levels, and I'll just give the original names, to create less confusion:

    Emerald Hill -> Green Hill -> Aquatic Ruins -> Wood -> Hill Top Zone -> (Now entering the under-ground sequence) Mystic Cave -> Hidden Palace -> (Now, entering the City/Industrial Takeover)
    Oil Ocean -> Carnival Night -> Casino Night -> Chemical Plant -> Metropolis (Or genocide city, whichever :P) -> (Now, entering the higher-ups) Skychase -> Wing Fortress -> Death Egg (all 3 acts) -> Ending.


    And, I'm actually thinking about expanding Altitonant (Sky Chase) Into 2 acts, aswell as wing fortress, Being a no-boss zone taking place inside the actual space craft (New set of tiles would be involved), leading to an exit, which leads to Death Egg act 1. I know I could do them both.. It's just, it would require a bit of work to do.. Plus, I don't want it to be entirely too long, as in people maybe getting a bit bored, or something. But yeah, so, would anyone care to have an Act 2 of WFz/SCz? :P


    By the way, anyone else still interested in Beta Testing the layouts?

    I like the level order, but, personally, I'd rather think it'd flow better like so:

    Emerald Hill -> Green Hill -> Hill Top -> Wood -> Aquatic Ruins -> Rest of the stuff.

    Also, for better continuity, try having the entire HPZ boss underwater, ala TTZ, from Sonic CD. Try copying in the behaviour and movments of said boss. Then, in OOZ, have Sonic coming up out of the slime, by starting him on a spring, and launching him out into the docks/oil refinery area.

    That's all for now, I quite like the level names, too.
