  1. Hydrocity. First of all, that's how I started pronouncing it even before I was smart enough to notice it even could be Hydro City, second, no space, and third, it sounds cooler.

Nothing that concerns this place in the least.
I just simply pronounce it as "Hydro City".

Definitely Hydro City. Voice is right, HCZ is easier to remember. However, it is spelled Hydrocity in both the title card AND level select, but let's just face it... Hyrdo City DOES make more sense.

The title card and level select have no case, so it might be HydroCity. =P

Is this a reading contest or something? If it says Hydrocity, then it's Hydrocity even if you've heard/said it otherwise...

Actually, that may be right. I do remember seeing "IceCap" somewhere before, so it may be the same situation here. At any rate, Hydro City for me.

    I won't just kill you.

I'll make a decorative sculpture using your liver, kidneys, heart, intestines and pancreas, show it to you while you're still alive and then batter you to death with parts of your own brain attached to a club.

Which is sad, because I agree with you.

I've always said Hydro-City, myself. It is a place name, after all.

I've pronounced it "Hydro City" for as long as I've known it, and never heard otherwise until last year sometime.

It could in fact be "HydroCity" seeing as there is no case for letters. The name fits the zone just fine.

Oh, and "Hydrocity" is not a word. At all. So there should be only one logical answer.

Hydrocity isn't a real word, but neither is Hydro. Hydro is actually a prefix meaning water-related, and has been placed in front of the word City.

Thus referring to a "Water City" or "City of Water". Thank you, Hivebrain.

After reading through all this and giving it some more thought, I'm really not sure at all.

On the one hand, yeah, there isn't a space but there is with the other zones. On top of that

    Hydro + VELOCITY = Hydro"s"ity

Makes a whole lot of sense. But I've always said and read it as two words, and it is a water-city. Now I'm completely conflicted whenever I see it spelled... my brain can't agree on a pronounciation.

Except there is already a word for "hydro" + "velocity". It's called "viscosity".
