It has begun

I've started work on my as yet unnamed hack. I will release screenshots, and if you're lucky I'll release a beta or two. Any media relating to my hack will be posted here.

 

First alpha version of my hack (dubbed "Sonic Distracted") is now available here. Alpha versions with respect to Sonic Distracted do not have modified levels. Beta versions will have modified levels.

This alpha version has all the new palettes (although the SBZ palette is under review) but no changes to the level layout. I have also not yet finalised level names, so the old title cards are still in use. If you look at the level select you will find that I have added possible names. The final version will have the final names implemented in the title cards.

 

If you don't know how to spell it, say it in English.

For anyone who goes "ITS NOT FNIISHED OMG" look at the second post. It's an alpha, I.e. not finished.

 

It's Gens. Go download it. Why would I buy something purely to play a free ROM?

 

I have no idea, and know nothing about it. Use Gens.

As for updates on my hack, I'm still fixing bugs. I'm currently modifying explosion sprites so they look good under the new Sonic palette. I'll also be modifying the palette used for Yadrin and Caterkillers, and will have a new level layout for GHZ in the next beta. Stay tuned!
