Is there any technical info on how to make a lighting mod for switch games?

Specifically, Sonic Superstars could benefit from a lighting Mod. I know switch emulators have an easy way to turn on mods by dropping them into a folder.

I am guessing this would involve reverse engineering the game in such a way that we could modify shader code which may affect the lighting.

Can an emulator dump details on the shaders to reverse engineer the game?

Or are there other tools to analyze the rom files and find shader code?

What kind of tools could help here?
