I'm just wonder here. Are there any tools that will rip graphics from a SNES rom? Say like Megaman 7. I actually just want the level tiles if possible. Any help other than "take a screenshot" would help.
Actually, I'm pretty sure any tile editor will do. I recall there being a specific SNES savestate viewer that could do a whole bunch of shit (like other graphics modes and palettes), but damned if I can remember it... Also, screenshot ripping is really a good method, if you disable layers (ZSNES buttons 1-5)
I actually use SNESx9. It just seems better all-around. I mean ZSNES is awesome, but the GUI really bugs me.
I never ripped level tiles before, but as far as I know, the tiles are compressed, so a savestate would be the best way to do it. Oh, and about tile rippers/editors - I'd recommend TileMolester, YY-CHR and maybe TileLayerPro.
The problem is getting inbetween frames very quickly, like an entire running animation of a character.
Slight thread hijack, does anyone have a complete Jill Valentine sprite rip from Marvel Vs Capcom 2? The ones I can find are all half complete. (complete includes the zombie, tyrant, dog & crow frames)
Wasn't there a program that took a screenshot every second, for Sprite ripping and such? ...Shame I can't find it. D=
By the way, what is MegamanX's screen resolutions? I've always though it to be 320x240 or something like that.
The SNES's resolution is 256x224. Unless you mean the size of the internal chunks and so on, which would be in the hacking thread.
