Strange, I just played through Dragon Road again, and while I ended up missing the Egg Fighters during boosting (due to the animation that they play now to avoid counterattacking), I wasn't able to reproduce the bug you got.

Paraxade, are you sure the files you updated with are these?

As I said in the comment, it's just too funny because I deliberately made an effort to fix that, yet it seems that with the right combination of skills and a slope, you managed to get right above it by some mere units(the wall is roughly at the height of the Dragon Head). It's an easy fix, but I'll give it to you this time... at least the rest of the run seems pretty legit as intended though.

    EDIT:
Also you have SonicGLvl to discover holes if you didn't realise that already.

Also I find it kinda odd that my speedrun of the level is more popular than me actually releasing the level. :v: Seems we just went past 1k downloads over at ModDB though! That doesn't include the ones who downloaded from the Google Drive mirror.

I'd say there are a great many people out there who can't play this due to it being PC-only, combined with those too lazy to figure out how to install it.. That's probably to blame for your video having more hits than your release.

I downloaded this a few days ago and tried it out. It works fine on my PC, as well as the official stages do, however sometimes when I start the stage, this happens:

Nothing else ever goes wrong, but once this happens, it stays that way until I close the game. That never happened when I played Windmill Isle.

That's a bug with the game, it even happens on the unmodified game... It's just really random.

  8. You say that, but it's never happened to ME unless I'd tinkered with any of the files. My unmodified game has always run flawlessly.

Never happened till I started using this, not even once.

Not that I don't believe you, it's just very hard to do so considering I've played this game for months and it's never happened to me until a few days ago, and now it happens damn near every single time I play Dragon Road.

Blame the mod if you want, I can't help you with it... I have no idea what you expect me to do about a bug with the game that happens even when it's not modified.

EDIT: Yes, I'm sounding like an ass, but this was brought up already in the previous thread, and probably in others several times.

I'll confirm that the bug happens to me in unmodified Generations. I'd bet that video RAM is involved, since my laptop doesn't have an abundance of it.

I'll double confirm that I remember seeing people on GAF mention the titlecard bug long before Sonic Generations modding got far enough for public releases.

The vast majority of the time, a texture glitch like that is your video card either overheating or otherwise failing. Somewhere in your video card's RAM, metaphorical wires are getting crossed and it's mapping the wrong textures in the wrong places.

I get the bug, but it only started when I started to mod Generations. However, it only happened once or twice.

This titlecard thing? Oh shit, happened to me actually quite a lot, modifyied or not modifyied version of the game. I always believed that was because of some framedrop or something like that, that made the data do not load correctly. But I can confirm that this is not because of the mod.

(And even if it was, fuck you, are you mad because you couldn't read the name of the stage for the hundread time?)

Okay I had some HDD troubles right around the time this released so I'm only just now playing it for the first time. Stumbled on a bug, dunno if it's been reported or if it happened to anyone else:

I've seen it happen on non-widescreen aspect ratios. I'm going to assume it's a problem with how the DDS file for the preview is saved, although I have no idea what could be causing it.

Not entirely sure if this is the mod's fault but I'm willing to bet it was. I booted it up to play it again, noticed the Omochao shop was there. Bought some skills (both shields, speed up, and blast off - equipped speed up and blast off). Played for a little while, ended up doing the level 5-6 times because I was obsessively restarting every time I'd die.

Decided I'd quit out and re-install FRAPS at some point because I want to see how fast my new HDD is. Exit level, and the loading screen animation freezes. After a few seconds I notice it did not actually freeze, it's just going at a rate of one frame every 5-10 seconds. Wondering what's up, I try and alt tab and bring up the task manager to terminate SonicGenerations.exe. It takes several minutes for this to happen. Eventually I figure its a lost cause and I hit the power button on my tower to enforce a shut down.

3-4 minutes later the task manager sluggishly makes its way in to view as each program struggles to shut down. Sonic Generations is taking up every single ounce of processing power my system can give it.

This is one of those "it never happened until I installed the mod" scenarios.

Something else I noticed: A lot of the sounds seem to be coming out of the left channel for some reason.

This could very well be the case, my friend was playing Skyrim yesterday and he said that one time when he fought a dragon, it's textures were totally fucked up. I figured it was the game itself since it only happened once (and I remember how buggy past Bethesda games have been), but now that you mention that, I may just need to get a better card, something I'd planned on doing anyway.

Regardless, I have yet to find any unmentioned bugs, and the stage itself runs flawlessly. My apologies if I came off as an asshole, I just want this mod to be as awesome as possible, because I've seen people buy Generations (sometimes buying it again for those who had it on consoles) simply because they know you guys are working on it.

  20. Oh wow. No pressure, guys!
