Hackaday source Thought you all might appreciate gawking at this. Not too many details, but interesting.
Is piracy really a problem for the Dreamcast at this point? Really? Plus the fact that technically anything playing on this is an illegal copy. Pretty neat, regardless.
Perhaps it will lead to renewed efforts to rip the entire dreamcast library properly for posterity, rather than the gimped versions we've apparently settled with.
I think the whole piracy thing was a misunderstanding. From what I'm reading, the only thing that was officially stated was that there could be problems with certain CDI images that have been modified to fit on a CDR. The best compatibility would be had with unmodified GD-ROM dumps.
The majority of all games are already ripped in GDI, in fact many titles have been remade into improved CDI versions from those GDI sources.
Then I am sorely out of the loop. The reason I amassed such a huge DC collection (400+) was because it seemed that true emulation and bootlegs would be impossible without a GD rom burner and a stack of GD roms.
hey hey, don't let your effort go to waste then. Buy that sd card adaptor thingy and dump your games to GDI, then. You might just have a bunch of titles that need verifications; contact the staff at Dumpcast for details (Maddog in particular). Before anyone asks you can find the GDIs torrented on underground gaymer
