  1. Long Post, ACTIVATE!

"The Last scene" from Sonic Adventure 2. Always loved it ever since I was a kid. "City Escape" also. Who doesn't love sing "Rolling around at the speed of sound. Got places to go, got to follow the rainbow" out of cheesiness and nostalgia? lol

"Quartz Quadrant" present/good future, "Tidal Tempest" past, "Collision Chaos" present/good future and "Palmtree Panic" from Sonic CD Jap version are really good also. I wish Sonic music were more like these nowadays. I hate the the "Ghey boy band rock" they've been doing lately (well at least until Sonic Unleashed came out)

"Green Hill" zone, "Starlight zone", "Labyrinth" zone and "Scrap Brain" zone from Sonic 1 are the best, imo

"Sky chase" zone, "Hill Top" zone and that Tails cutscene from Sonic 2

"Windy Valley", "Speed highway" when you run down the sky scraper and the dusk area, the fast shoes, "Lost world" first section, the Chao race, and that song when Amy releases that bird after beating that green stalking robot, and "Casino knight" including that Nights music from Sonic Adventure. They never get old.

"Angel Island" zone 1, "Hydrocity" zone 1, "Lava reef" all zones, "Hidden Palace", "Sky Sanctuary", the credits for Sonic 3 alone, and the last boss and "Doomsday" from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. All classics.

Sonic 06 had some really amazing music too. The one that sticks out to me the most, though, is "Wave Ocean". Not trying to bash the game or anything, but if only Sega worked as hard on the gameplay as they did with the music, then it could have been a more memorable game.

Sonic Heroes with "Casino Park" and "Grand Metropolis"

"Apotos" and the hub world, "Holaska" hub world at night time, "Chun-nan" hub world at night time, "Spangonia" hub world at day and night time and the Tornado mini games from Sonic Unleashed are really amazing, also, and Sega should really stick with this style.

I guess I can add this since it technically is a sonic game, but in Shadow the Hedgehog, the ONLY song that was memorable to me was "The Doom". It's really strange to me how they have all that cheesy rock music, then they pull out something really amazing to listen too, then go back to "Ghey boy bands". I guess they made that soothing music for you because they knew that level was going to be drawn out like fuck lol :v:

The "X Zone Boss" 3rd part music in Sonic Advance is so good. I always loved that really static-y beat they had going on. Also "Neo Green Hill" zone, "Angel Island" zone, "Ice Mountain" zone and "Secret Base" zone

  2. Chrome Gadget from S3, I just seem to connect with it. It's got a lonely, yet industrious sound to it.

  3. I do like most Sonic music, but If I had to pick favorites...

    Sonic 1
Green Hill - Classic zone with a classic song! Everyone remembers this song.
Star Light - Come run on giant rails of speed and listen to this floaty awesome tune!

    Sonic 2
Casino Night - Really gives you that Vegas feeling.
Sky Chase - Oh, this music is AWESOME. I love this song so much.

    Sonic 3
Endless Mines - This is a memory written into song. It is beautiful.
Launch Base - I liked the constant "GO!" It meant something awesome awaited.
Ice Cap - This level had some of the best music in the series. It was simply amazing.

    Sonic & Knuckles
Flying Battery - This music makes you wanna move!
Hidden Palace - Ominous, calm, and a fantastic tune.
Sky Sanctuary - This song is like a victory, soaring into the sky...
Final Boss - This music truly gave you the feeling of EPIC BATTLE.
Doomsday - The last chase...everything is on the line... Awesome music!

    Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis)
Rusty Ruins - This was an ancient temple, and the music fits it perfectly.
Diamond Dust - This zone is also a fantastic ice zone theme. Its so energetic!
Credits - The credits theme here lets you truly know that the adventures on the Genesis are over.

The newer games don't have many catchy tunes, but both the Unleashed and Colors soundtracks are fantastic.

My first post on this forum! This is the thread which made me sign up.

I've always loved the Sonic music, a very big part of my childhood and if I'm being honest, I still get excited when I hear them today! Choosing my favourites though is pretty hard. I've had to really think about this and be honest with myself. I've also tried to limit it to only a handful from each game.

    Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (Megadrive):
    Green Hill Zone (naturally)
    Star Light Zone
    Scrap Brain Zone

    Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Megadrive):
    Hill Top Zone
    Sky Chase Zone
    Oil Ocean

    Sonic CD
    Tidal Tempest (Pal/Jap)

Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Inclusive) (Megadrive)
    Hydrocity Act 2
    Launch Base Act 1
    Balloon Park
    Coloured Spheres Special Stage
    Hidden Palace
    Sky Sanctuary Onwards...

    Honourable Mentions...
Bridge Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 1 - Master System)
Sky High Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Master System)
Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine - Love just about every track
    Chun-Nan from Sonic Unleashed
Holoska 'Hub' Night from Sonic Unleashed
    Wave Ocean from Sonic 06
    Tropical Jungle from Sonic 06
Pretty much the entire soundtrack to Sonic 3D. I think that might have the best soundtrack overall. There wasn't a single bad track on there!

My favorite music pieces in Sonic are primarily from older games. My top one is probably Stardust Speedway Good Future on the JP/PAL version of Sonic CD. This song is special to me due to the fact that the first time I beat Metal Sonic in the race is when I beat the game 100%. It just fits in with the scene.

I like the Boss theme from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It is a fast paced tune that can just get your heart racing a little bit and if you are down to 0 rings you are getting nervous as the music and battle are getting more intense and dragging out.

Casino Night zone wins me over, because I've always been fond of smooth, swing-esque tunes. The nostalgia factor also applies to this.

I also loved Sonic Adventure's music though, mainly for E-102's theme and anything linked to Robotnik. The whole soundtrack, though, has a certain charm that doesn't seem to pop up nowadays with the frequent use of piano and saxaphone together. Some of the vocal tracks left something to be desired, but they're pleasant in their own right.

  8. Star Light Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog
Spring Yard Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog
Work It Out (Instrumental) - Sonic R
Back In Time (Instrumental) - Sonic R
Opening/Cutscene - Sonic Unleashed (Probably the only thing I liked from this game)
Lost Labyrinth Act 1 - Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Same as above)
