Sonic Generations Megathread

Yessir. That they do. Why go to GameFly when you can drop by a RedBox and keep a game for three days and beat it for $6 dollars?

 

I saw (what could be) the front box art for Generations on PS3 in Game this morning...(sorry if it's been posted already, but I'm not looking through 300+ pages to check)

 

The boxart was revealed pack at E3 when SEGA put it on their press site. Lots of online retailers also have it up. However, we don't yet have the 3DS boxart, which may or may not be different.

Ah, Ok then...thought I had something there...ah well.

 

Hopped onto Facebook and look what I found! (Hint: It's not a new level trailer.)

 

Based on how most of the first levels they showed for each game are the ones they're using in Generations, we could surmise that if we did get a Sonic 3 level, it'd be Carnival Night. Suddenly I'm fine with not having a Sonic 3 level in the game.

 

Sega have just posted a bunch of things on their Flickr, namely Tails, Chemical Plant and the Metal Sonic battle.
Looking forward to everything in this game so far.

Classic Tails looks great -- I'm curious on how different classic Knuckles will look, aside from his black eyes. Also, I thought Metal Sonic was too small in the first photo of him released, but looking at the images, I think his ratios are perfect, and I'm 100% stoked to race him in 3D. Is that Stardust Speedway as well with the gray walls with the fans?

Why does this shot remind me of the 3D blast render on the boxart?

Actually, they don't look all that different, particularly with regard to proportions. I'll grant you that Modern Tails has teeth in his mouth, blue eyes and gray soles on his sneakers, but that's about it.

 

Just wondering - where did you notice Seaside Hill and Speed Highway before? I mean, not in the demo, but in the hub area released so far. I'm looking at the images at the moment and can't seem to see any hints of those levels.

 

Glad that the Metal Sonic fight has turned out to be in Stardust Speedway after all, and the chemical planet screenshots are GODLY.

Anyone else find it odd how modern sonic looks so tiny on the twisty blue and yellow roads compared to classic on his much smaller roads proportion wise?

Sega's rendering of the classic characters has been perfection so far. That image of both tails' really does prove that it's the eyes that seem to make that slightest bit less appealing than the classic ones. Old school tails is just so adorable.
