    I was going to submit these as a bitmap—only 16 KB!--but I previewed the post, just to be sure, and it would only let me download a non-BMP format. So, I converted them to PNG, with minimal color alteration (none, actually). As for use, possibly an underground zone with a mostly vertical light source. Maybe even an underground section of a desert zone.

    This is a bit of a mishmash, but I think it all works quite well together for a GHZ type background.

    Agreed, B is by far the best, since A is too similar to the GHZ grass and C just looks... distorted. =P So, I go with the majority vote.

    Offtopic: First post after setting up my computer again at Uni, w00. =P Also, what posessed you to try highlighting my post?

    I don't think the MD palette would keep up with that background, coz the water on it looks far too detailed, and it looks as though there are too many colours involved.

    Actually, that's exactly why I mentioned that...well, not exactly, but I remember Rika mentioning something about a possible desert zone in the beginning.

    That is good, but it would need more art to go with it.

    Right now I am trying to come up with some good BG art for my grass zone.

    How about a background? I've included a sample screenshot fragment (I.e. "mock-up") displaying what these graphics might look like in an actual game.

    EDIT: Everything that was in the previous pic I posted is still there somewhere, plus I've added a set of tiles for a loop.

    That's good, but it's not really what I'm looking for. I want stuff that has more of a Sonic feel to it.

    In other words, something that looks good that goes with the game, but clear and not too detailed. Or am I wrong yet again? =P

    Whoah, my first post since, like, July! Been awhile huh? I can provide you with some art based off an awesome Sonic dream I had last night. When exactly is the deadline?

    Oh and heres some old examples of level art I did last year. These were done in paint shop and suck majorly.

    Just copy and paste the links into your address bar and problem solved, Maxtream. Those were a nice try, but I'm not thinking those will quite work. They seem to be mixups of other Sonic levels, and Haunted Hill doesn't seem really Sonic-ish. Nothing wrong with maybe sampling SMALL segments of other levels, but those seem to take a bit too much.
