To touch a Hedgehog

He'd probably just feel like a regular hedgehog.

On a different note, I've always wondered how Sonic feels about having his mouth on the side of his face.

 

Funny, I've always wondered this myself. I can't help but think of his spines as being super sharp. In the cartoons and comics, he could spin like a saw blade and cut through just about anything. I would also imagine that, while they sort of bounce like rubber, they'd be very heavy and durable since he can curl up in a ball and hurl himself at solid metal objects to destroy them. He even bounces off some stuff. I think of his quils/spikes as being like a sharp, but fuzzy car tire.

Also note in one episode of AoStH, Sonic pulls out a giant comb and mirror and combs his "hair" (spikes) with it.

I can also remember one or two occasions where Sonic references his "fur". I forget whether this was in a comic, game, or tv show though.
So as for the rest of his body, he's covered in a very short, possibly matted down, fur. I believe the flesh colored areas are actually skin though, without fur covering it, like the undersides of some other short fur animals that have exposed skin on their bellies.

I don't think I'd want to touch him anyway. So enough about Sonic, what do you think Tails feels like? I wanna give him a hug. :3

As for how Sonic would feel, I'm sure he'd feel like a shriveled mass of filth. Or rubber. I don't really know.

 

Soak a Rubber Ball with Glue, roll it in animal hair and there u go.

I think it would feel kind of like plastic.

 

It probably varies. Egg Robo is probably metal, but I could see some of the more colorful ones being plastic.

 

Interestingly enough they seem to have similar levels of narcissism as well.
