Sonic RDX Update

    Those streaks are actually highlights - the idea is to semi-replicate the sonic-xtreme/3d blast era sonic material, without the failtastic low-poly models. Here are some (slightly better) shots for comparison

  3. Is it just me or is sonic's head floating @_@. I like it it just needs to be a little less shinny....don't want it to look like heroes <_<

    The shadows look darker on my home pc... you know the one with the monitor that phases between white and green =P

    I'll look at it in my buddy's pc soon, fix teh colors. Oh and his head is floating. Body model edit is coming soon to fix that. Also, I'm going to start researching a dll exploit idea that could possibly allow for loading of independent level files without overwriting the original exe. I may need some professional help with this one.

    Also, animation format and vertex colors are next on the immediate docket.

    Well Dude, I think your doing a great job with it again. Glad to see your back. Sonic's texture seems a bit Sonic Heroesy to me but...hey, your mod not mine...anyway. It's great IMHO.

    Man. I actually can't say much that hasn't already been said, but damn, you're doing some amazing stuff with SADX, Dude. I remember back a few years ago, it was your stuff that got me into texture hacking, so it's great to see all this activity again.

    Also, IMO the slimmer heroes-esque highlights look better than the huge metallic blobs of light that make up the normal SADX gloss.

    No, its not. Turns out that that just past the reach of sanik's notes lies the lighting data. The game uses vertex-based lighting, where each vertex is assigned a BGRA (little-endian version of RedGreenBlueAlpha) value. This value essentially forms a map of color data that is blended over the diffuse texture channel.

    tl;dr - you can change the light of the levels, but not sonic. *yet*

    Also, that pool of water is actually water this tiem. You can drown in it and everything. But sonic won't float to the top if he drowns for some reason. Oh and the regular water physics speed doesn't apply here either, its almost half as slow as normal.

    I've seen this motion blur hack, but know nothing of it. How does it work? where do I find it?

    I think it was originally a GTA hack...though it seems to be edited to work with sonic.exe (I just renamed SonicRDX to sonic.exe and it runs sweet)

    Otherwise, it works a charm (I also got some nice light bloom effects too xD)

    Sorry to bump the topic, but I just found the Shadow Adventure (Release B) files on my PC. Didn't you ask if anyone had them when you were re-building X-Hax, because I will upload them if you want? Either way, you don't have them on X-Hax, so I thought you might need them.

    no I already have those old files... thanks though. I got evicted from my apartment so I have no idea when the next release is coming. Maybe after I write a few more chapters of my book, or when I get a new place to live or even when I get bored enough to start hacking again. Who knows.
