The Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Megathread

Well they're fucking stubborn aren't they? Parts of the game have been replaced and changed to create more revenue, because the game wasn't gaining as many hardcore fans as SEGA had hoped. People will lap it up even with the unnecessary, randomly placed uncurling and that retarded inertia. I'm really looking forward to this game, I've been a SEGA gamer since I was old enough to, and I'm a huge follower of Sonic, but sometimes the game creators have shit for brains. They had a perfect formula going up until after Advance 3, and even the Rush games were awesome. We got what we expected, because we were told it wasn't going to follow exact tradition. I'm not gonna have a pop at Ken B, we knew what he meant to say, and god forbid I've done and said enough retarded and misunderstood stuff in my time, but instead of explanations from people, we just want some stupid decisions changed. I can count 2 major things; inertia and sticking to Walls- Why can you not just fix it? Who actually prefers it? No one.

 

What I've learned with Sonic 4 is that this is truly a broken fanbase and nobody is going to be happy. And this all falls in line with that

 

There's some good stuff in the new music spotlight. I wish my Splash Hill Act 3s made it, but at least they were nominated!

Btw, When's the music for Mad Gear going to be released? I've got a custom killer ending medley to unleash!

 

The more of Sonic 4's music I hear the more I detest it. That Lost Colony mash up is nice though.

 

I wouldn't say that. People are pretty happy with Sonic Colors so far. This game just failed to deliver in some key categories that would have truly made it Sonic 4 I.e the phyiscs

 

I for one am happy this game is being made at -all-. And it looks like a good, fun game. To me, physics, uncurling and such don't matter to me as much. They are annoying and prove Sega is lazy, but it doesn't make me hate the game like some people. Rolling up all people into a single category is always a bad idea, because it's usually assumptive and incorrect.

 

This truly is the Sonic fanbase as you imagined it.

On another note, Casino Street's new Act looks pretty sweet. The card coaster just about made my jaw drop, for real. I'm looking forward to finally being able to play Episode 1 when it's released in...well, one of the final three months of 2010.

Not really, but the controversy around this game has really destroyed the reputation of an already terrible fanbase, for sure. Sonic Colors looks so much better than Sonic 4, and I'm quite happy with it thinking it could possibly end up as a great game.

 

What'll be really funny is if the uncurling (and anything else that doesn't require significant level redesign to fix) turns out to be a massive troll, and they've already got a fix for it but are just waiting for the build that they plan on actually releasing so it doesn't show up in any trailers. I know, wishful thinking.

Also, I retract what I said a few months ago about this game probably getting a November 24 (or as close as possible) release. The 19921124 anniversary would be nice, but Colors seems to have fucked up any chance of that.

 

Truly this is Sonic 4 as you would have imagined it. Now we just need to get our fine friends in the fan-hack section to whip up something to put on that cartridge. :v:
