Anyone else notice the abundance of classic Sonic merch lately?

It might just mean Sonic has entered the "Retro Pool" like Invader Zim...

Edit: Because the current franchise or lack thereof has gotten to the point of no return.

 

Because Classic Sonic sells.

I will get that wallet though, I'm actually due for a new one. My old wallet has gotten so worn out over the years. I personally welcome this new rush of Classic Sonic merchandise, it's all pretty good stuff.

EDIT: Fuck it I'll say it. Classic Sonic is just better than what the series has become.

For $25, hell yeah I'd buy a Classic Sonic shirt, I don't care where I have to purchase it from.

I wouldn't mind having a backpack like that. I'd probably be ridiculed for having a backpack that makes it look like Sonic is trying to give me a reach-around, but he's too high up. On second thought, maybe I can do without it... But at least it's still much better than this crap I found a picture of a long time ago:

I remember last year at work we had the console bags (I bought one), a smaller bag, Sonic and Tails remote control cars, and the 'racing set'. I hope this year they get a few more, considering the figurines have boomed over the last year. There was also a lot of Mario stuff too, pretty cool.

 

Does it have anything to do with the fact that Jetix have the rights to produce/license Sonic merch due to some agreement over Sonic X a few years ago? It was rumoured even to be a 'legal hiccup' on SEGA's end, though that was probably just speculation. I don't have the source anymore, but there's this:

I bought this shirt from HMV a while back:

The blue is deeper/better than in the image (much like the background colour of Retro's blue skin). The decal is felt, which I think is quite a cool feature. It fits well; all in all, I'm quite glad I recently decided to actually wear it, after it lying around for about a year.
