Not trying to insult you great and talented people, but God, my nephew of 7 years old is more mature. There's a lot of stuff left for Casino Nights Zone. The focus currently lies on Chemical Plant (and the last bits of Emerald Hill) but there is not point in arguing over 1 bloody bumper he did a bit sooner than expected. The "best" piece of the pie is taken, but that doesn't take away the fact there's a lot of pie left.
I don't see what does "being mature" have to do with being able to make an alternate version for us to judge. That's what happens with the submitted music all the time, after all.
Actually, Its not that Im angry, just a little pissed off... don't really know if that means the same in english haha...but lets say that I waited about ...2 years since we started the project, to do CNZ objects, and then of nothing ...boom, someone starts without me. Nah, That would waste effort and time... Hey, glad you understand, but don't worry, its not like Im a emo-suicide that will kill myself xD... Actually, yes, people saying "HEY WE ARE DOING CPZ AND ARZ FIRST! "... but if that don't help, who knows what. Well, hahaha, nah I just do some jokes about the sparky-seizure-inducing-baby and my favourite zone too =P Ice, Ice, Ice, you know that "Me caes bien, tronco" like you'll say in spanish, but its wasted effort to do the same things 2 times when 1 already look fine. Its not about how mature you are...believe me, I was just pissed off, nothing more, nothing less, Its not like I'll start killing people in the forums, just chill out and have fun reading the "drama" of the morning. ...Well, so...what if we start doing metropolis zone right now? People can essentially work on whatever the hell they want. The staff would, however, like to have people focus on the upcoming stages, and there are a couple reasons for this. First, we haven't decided on a solid art direction for the next stage, so when we finish the current one, if we don't have a set art direction to follow, we can't start making the final version of the next stage yet and we have to spend time working on our own concepts and ideas. Second, we can use anything that fits or is close to fitting the art direction fairly easily, so that can help us get things done faster. We already have our standard of quality set, we just need ideas for how the stages should look. If any of you need some examples of what I'd love to see, go look at the early posts in these threads and take a look at all the early concept ideas that were just for Emerald Hill. Of course, I would like to see concepts in a much higher quality than those old things.
Woah, like all this commotion over like 1 object... considering we have like credit text, title screen stuff and Hill Top zone stuff made, which are really not that needed at this point in the project either, why complain about this either. I work on a basis of that do what I feel like. Why do I go this way because if I was stuck doing nothing but Emerald Hill Zone then I would get bored, though I know this aint productive, considering I'm taking time to do work for this project I don't see why people should have a problem with this, or be pissed of regarding this.
Its nothing against you flare, but if we let people start doing random things for next zones (specially my favourite one =P), the developement would not focus on the actual zones we need to finish first... for example, this is an old mockup I made like...8 months ago when I was bored, but didnt posted because we were focusing on emerald hill zone art... Its not like "Hey you are a thief! That was going to be my piece!" but its something about the developement progress... (Although I don't like people to start things I was waiting for years without me =P) PD: We are going to use the things you said about credits and other shit soon enough =P
Yes great work! As what may be determined as a vastly unappreciated change of topic, I just want to throw in my two cents about something that's bothered me for some time. Yes, I know it has already gone through the whole discussion already, I apologise, but... Does anyone else think that the background field of flowers in EHZ look nothing like the flowers in the foreground?
Yes, and the staff has discussed it a few times a few months back. There will be some kind of a solution to it for the Alpha. I am not in charge of the actual design of the flowers, but I can't live with a huge difference between background and foreground art.

It's looking good so far, but keep on working to make it more epic with every step. Once you think it's about epic enough, add something even more epic, doesn't matter if it takes you 2 more hours. The galaxy's a big place filled with black holes and milky ways. In the final stage, I almost expect comets to come down the sky. Look at this pic for 15 minutes, and your depiction of epic will increase 50% each time you do so.
Well, if we look at the original, is not curved at all...but you're thinking of the planet of the size of the earth, at that altitude, of course it should look curved, but we don't know about Sonic's planet, maybe its way larger and that way, you cannot see the curvature... Hahaha, I keep adding clouds and details in the image, I could try to add galaxies and starts in the back, but don't know yet =P

=P About the curvature... I'm not sure it would be noticeable enough to be worth the hassle, since the planet is going to feature some scrolling that would have to be adapted to it.
