What makes a good hack?

    I think what people want most in a hack is to play something based on a game they know and love, but unlike it in general gameplay. You see hacks featuring tons of new levels and graphics, but hacks such as Robotnik's Revenge and the bouncing hack mentioned earlier can be just as enjoyable.

    You don't need extra characters and grand-scale level/palette hacks. But what I would like to see is for you to offer something new to the table; fix Sonic 2 splitscreen to be played on more levels, reinvent the emerald-hunting concept in 2D, I don't care. Even if you're just modifying levels, do something with them that no one has ever done before, like upside-down water or some crazy shit, as long as it can be turned into something that the player can laugh at or have some sense of thrill over.
