I'll release a tool that converts the music after I finish with the custom server. The power-up length is probably inside the APK. I'll see if I can adjust it.
Awesome, I hope you find them. From my experience with the game, if you keep the score scaling the same as post 2.0, I don't think going back to the original max timer of 30 seconds would feel quite right. 10 seconds was definitely not enough post patch though, so either 15-20 seconds seems like a good value to use in my opinion. I'd be happy to be a tester for you should you be after any.
I set up a beta version of my custom server in case anyone wants to test it. But it's still incomplete, although enough to be able to play in Quick Mode. Here is the link with all the required information: http://runrun.ksrv.net/ Feel free to make a post there in case you experience some problems.
OMG! THE YOU-ARE-PWNED IS HERE?! I am such a BIG fan of your work! Really I am : D I got Sonic Runners working on my phone with no problem! Thank you SO much. I was having a fan girl screaming moment when the patch work. Thank you so much! I will share this to my friends! Even though I lost my save data, I don't mind starting all over again (for the third time, DON'T JUDGE ME!)
So does this version lag as much as post release version? Also how do you obtain characters and companions?
There's actually no lagging on my end but you can't get new characters or companions because it's a beta so far. Only Time Attack is playable, everything else will give you plenty of errors like the roulette will be stuck asking for a stronger connection (even though my connection is perfectly fine). Story will give you some kind of a error ID or something. Well it is in the beta phase still so I don't mind waiting for the custom server kicks in
I totally get that it's beta and is in development. I was just worried that it has as much slowdowns and lag during gameplay as ofgicial version - something that killed this game for me (cause I couldn't care less about collectible shit). Not that collectibles are bad but gameplay always comes first.
Sorry I wasn't clear on that. There are no lagging, I guess because it's a small custom server and not like the big official server with all kinds of events going around and stuff.
Wow, this is amazing! I really enjoyed Sonic Runners back in its glory days and was highly disappointed when 2.0 ruined everything, and for some reason the app started crashing every time I opened it after January so I never even got to play it one last time before it was shut down... I had even made it to rank ***S or whatever the highest rank was (I can't remember now since it was so long ago). About the events, will they be playable whenever you choose as a sort of extra Story mode, or will they be run as actual events off the server from time to time like they were originally? And is there potential for custom events and stages?
Hi there! Remember I was looking for caché files to revive the game once it was closed down? Well, You-are-pwned sorted that out ( big kudos to him!) but our work at Sonic Paradise was not all in vain. Thanks to the caché that was sent, our friend DaGuAr was able to locate some very interesting files in the game server that was leaked. Including unreleased stuff! First, seems like Zazz was not the only raid boss planned for the game. There are was a Zomom one planned, and we found some lost textures for it ( in all languages!) Images at spoiler tag, I don't want to clog the post Spoiler But that was not the only thing. We also found some leftovers for what seems to be the first Sonic Boom inclusion within the game. No, not sticks, but D-Fekt from Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice. It was going to be a buddy, released around fall 2015, right when Boom F&I was going to be released before it's delay. No textures or models were found, but there are some code and text files about it: Code (Text): <Cell ID="loading_details2033" String="Every {PARAM1} combo collects all Rings, Crystals and Animals on screen, and briefly doubles your Combo Bonus."/> <Cell ID="grow_details2033" String="Every combo of the following length collects all Rings, Crystals and Animals on screen, and briefly doubles your Combo Bonus: [505050]{PARAM3}[ffffff] -> [0080ff]{PARAM1} [ffffff](Same Type: [505050]{PARAM4}[ffffff] -> [0080ff]{PARAM2}[ffffff])"/> <Cell ID="details2033" String="Every {PARAM1} ({PARAM2}) combo grabs certain on-screen objects, and boosts Combo Bonus."/> <Cell ID="main_menu_details2033" String="{PARAM1} combos grab objects."/> <Cell ID="featured_footnote2033" String="A robot with a strong magnet, built by Dr. Eggman."/> <Cell ID="loading_long_details2033" String="Every {PARAM1} ({PARAM2}) combo collects on-screen objects and boosts your Combo Bonus."/> We also recovered all dialoge text from ALL the game, including those like the Japan only Puyo Pyo event. They are encrypted but they're there. And that's all, for now. You can find more info at Sonic Paradise, along with the full package of all the finding, uncrypted textures and more at http://www.sonicparadise.net/2016/08/sonic-runners-assets-datos-y-secretos.html So, after all this, we can only say... Gracias Dagu.
Indeed, nice job to all involved! I wonder how many other events like this were planned but didn't get this far?
Wow, that's an amazing find by you guys! I never actually played the game, sadly, due to just not getting the game's appeal (and not liking the endless runner type game genre as it stands on the AppStore). Zoomom and D-Fekt would've been pretty cool though to see in action though! It's a shame SEGA pulled the game offline before any of this was released.
Sorry for bumping this topic but what is the status of the custom runners server? I've recently bought a new phone and was eager to try it. this http://runrun.ksrv.net/ site doesn't work anymore. Is the custom server dead?
Yes, it's dead, but if there's enough interest I can see what I can do to put it back up. I don't have the server space anymore though.
That's a shame. I really think something like that is worth preserving. I also really like the gameplay.
