Runner video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI0-XAo8O_0& This video doesn't show everything, but it has a lot more than it would have done on Monday or Tuesday. The physics in this engine are brilliant, and this engine includes a LOT more than the last one did. Enjoy!
I may be late to the party, but this latest video has certainly intrigued me. Almost exact physics, along with an easy level editor?! I await this release. :3
Wow nice video. Looks like a great engine and considering it's so easy to use. Surely on release will be the best way for a beginner to make a Sonic from scratch with no coding required.
Well, if you want anything original, you're still gonna have to know some type of code, in order to mess around with the runner. But for the most part, you're right.
It might work this way. For the mean time (for v3), you'll have to stick with the objects you get given. I haven't properly considered how custom objects might work, but when I do, a 'v3.5' *patch* might happen... Allowing the user to type GML may be kinda silly methinks, but it might be the best way. If all goes to plan, there will be a coding section, yes; I just don't know how to pull it off yet.
I don't think the Maker should have any coding functions in it really. I mean yea, that might streamline things but then you would have to code a syntax checker and it'll just get messy. It's simpler to just leave coding functions for the runner. People can mess with that if they want anything fancy.
Supposedly, you have custom scripting in GML to call GML function for something like that. Then again, there's Dami's GM engine=/
So the runner has a scripting function? What is it GML? How exactly do you access the coding functions?
Not really knowing what a 'scripting function' means exactly, I can still say no, neither the runner or the maker have anything like that yet. I'm pretty sure.
Video using the Spring Yard tiles (ripped by Mercury). Any appearance changes/bugs to the maker shown in this video do not need to be worried/pondered about.
