I think that face simply made us completely forget about the rest of the stuff in the Sonic 3D prototypes :P Man, yesterday I even made a sprite sheet with Sonic having those eyes! So bad I can't scan it right now :P I almost can't sleep because I couldn't stop laughing XD
In my opinion, that is the only thing that should have been kept in the early beta of Sonic 3D. Then we could have a retarded Sonic in the later games.
Has anyone been able to figure out how to access the other levels in the 73 build (provided they're in the game)?
A more serious update: - None of these protos had the if the game crashes go to the you found the level select screen thingy. - Also oddly, opening a savestate of the 819 proto's level select in 814's proto, it doesn't work, but the music plays fine. In all the other protos it is garbled mess.

<- OMG EYEZ [/spam] In the earlyest proto, the ring dissapears when you give flickies to it. This will make you struck, unless you put there all 5.
I don't know whether this has been mentioned, or whether it is just me, but in the 94 proto, I'm pretty sure that the life icon above the spring is much lower than before. If it isn't, then my bad. Also, I only just read this topic. I laughed so god-damned much.
I'm working on that. I'll edit this post (or make another one if a ton of people suddenly reply to this topic :P) if I find anything. EDIT: I did. Let's see just how much I've forgotten about the old Sonic games and how rusty my code-formatting skills are. FF0676:?? 00 - game crashes 01 - Green Grove Zone 1 02 - GGZ 2 03 - GGZ boss 04 - Gene Gadget Zone 1 05 - GGZ 2 06 - Rusty Ruin Zone 1 07 - RRZ 2 08 - RRZ boss 09 - game crashes 0A - game crashes 0B - game crashes Etc. "To be continued..." comes up when FF067C is greater than 08 upon completing a level. There's a ton of uncompressed art in the ROM that I haven't thoroughly examined; much of it appears to be related to Sonic and the Sega intro. There may be some bits and pieces from the later zones, but complete zones? Too early to tell.
In 825, when you beat the final boss, the game displays the message "GAME COMPLETED WITH ALL CHAOS EMERALDS SEQUENCE WILL GO HERE". (Note: The use of all caps is merely for accuracy reasons as it is in all caps on the card).
-73 Ballerina spinning thing doesn't make you invulnerable against bee (probably no) enemies in Rusty Ruins golden shield is green and doesn't do what it's supposed to do
Well, I had none. Therefore, I would imagine that yes, it is true, as it mentions having all emeralds.
Ah, well ok then. Just making sure. So I guess they must've planned for the emerald ending before the non-emerald ending. Or they were just lazy and used the same filler card for either ending at first.
I'm surprised at how different the level layout is in Prototype 73. I mean wow: right off the bat it's different. I was playing with Qjimbo's brilliant duel gens and I got frustrated and gave up because it was impossible to play them both at the same time. It was like playing two different games. Here's a video if anyone is curious. There's no sound but it just shows you how different the layout is: http://www.saveonepiece.com/prototypes/3dblastlol.avi EDIT: just for shits and giggles, I compared the 814 beta with the 73 one. they're quite a bit different in some ways. AT least Green Grove act 1 is. There's a spike in 73 that isn't in 814 or the final: I noticed something that happens quite a lot: see it? They take a spot where the ground is raised or indented and switch it around. I wonder why they did that. Another pointless small thing is that build 73 doesn't say "pause" when the game is... well paused.
