You must be very green. Topics which are meant to be archived will be archived when they start falling off page 1 of the topic list. DAMN NEWBIES.
if you edit the red pallete to his normal one, it does just fine. red badniks are just a tad bit lighter though. The blue on his shoe can also be changed to green without much conflict too, especially if you play it on the tv because everything blends in so sonic team presents and other shit looks fine. yeah fuck you guys I used a JPG, I was in a hurry
Is that from the RGB out? Because damn that's not as crisp as I was expecting. Anyway awesome work Stealth, just awesome.
No, it's from RF, actually. I hacked the game to interlace 1, captured some footage, and then separated it back out to fields (I also had to toss out the first fields or it would jitter up and down), cropped 16 pixels of black off the left, and resized to 352x240. I did this with Avisynth. I'd be curious what it looks like on PAL. Mind taking some 576 line screenshots?
Those boxes DO exist in the Sonic 1 ROM. It's under a conveyor belt, a place unaccesible to Sonic. I think you haven't heard about that tube, which leads you to a different way when holding 50+ rings?
Apparently not. I don't play Sonic 1 very often. EDIT: And if it exists in the original ROM, that definetly means that it wasn't planned for Knuckles to be able to get it, because Knuckles hadn't been conceived of yet.
Hmm. Perhaps this same mechanic is used in the spin tubes in Chemical Plant Zone. Another thing I need to look into... tomorrow. EDIT: Nope, that's not how it decides. I need to do some memory watching on that object, because it uses some special variables.
However, if the location exists in the original Sonic 1, that means it was not gonna be something Knuckles only, because Knuckles wasn't thought of yet. As Aurochs said. In other words, Sonic 1 came before Knuckles... but that is obvious. :P
My point wasn't about the hack, but the fact is that you can get there with Sonic in regular Sonic 1. For Ambil's entertainment, LOst and Fiz's Emerald Power Hack.
Not a problem. I love discovering new things about a game you've had so long. That's when you know it's a well built game.
