    Trying to be useful somehow.
I think it would be more of the second, otherwise it would just have to avoid the bombs and then there's no way you don't see the new path open.

They could have implemented a maximum distance/lock mechanic similar to how Eggman keeps in front of Sonic while being chased before/during/after final boss battles

Can someone set this person straight with a link to Sonic Labyrinth? + - I don't use nor have twitter.

What might have worked would be including a "collapsing wall" sound effect. Something that the player would distinctly recognize as different from the bomb explosion sound. Then while running away they would hear it and go "Huh? What was that?", go back and look, and find the new path.

From the sketches looks like a different aproach. That section of Flying Battery completly stops you so you HAVE to wait for the bombs to open the path. In the sketches it look like an alternate route entrance, similar to the bridge cut-out that was also cut out.

It reminds me also the sliding ice block you push in Ice Cap Zone. You move at the same speed being on top of it, and then it opens a new path.

Your signature sums up perfectly the way I feel every time I encounter this gimmick

  10. I wonder what stage would have used that quicksand? Probably Sand Shower huh.

Still glad they kept the gimmick in mind and used it in Sandopolis.

They actually used it in Marble Garden and Oil Ocean.

  12. Yeah, true. Not sure how Oil Ocean slipped my mind, but I feel like it is probably safe to presume that the gimmick was to be employed in another S2 stage as well.

That would depend on how the object is coded. That object could easily be written to not delete itself when out of range (as some objects in Sonic 1 already don't).

  15. Concerning the Unused Song, Has it been confirmed in interviews where it was going to be for in the game originally? The way it sounds & ends in the Demo Version sounds like a cutscene, Most likely when Sonic turns into Super Sonic after getting all off the emeralds, But the somber tone of it on the final game seems like it was for a bad ending as previously mentioned & it was looped.

Some other concept-arts, I don't know for which game, although one could be from Sonic Crackers. They were posted after the Sonic Spinball bit. :

    Trapped in my own thoughts.
Two stageplays, a screenplay, and an album
Glad to see "Madness Mountain" turned out to be correct. As tiny and illegible as the old picture was, I'm surprised we got it right.

I find it surprising that the special stage is depicted as a half-pipe in that concept art. Didn't Peter Morawiec state that it was originally depicted as a tube, but they updated the graphics to look like what we got? Maybe he meant a half tube, like the one from the concept art.

The last pic is definitely Crackers. You can see that Sonic and Tails are linked by the ring band.

Old news. Anyone well-informed enough knew that he's officially called Mecha Sonic, not Silver Sonic. Even the Sonic Wikia had it right :v:
