This game has quickly appeared to have gone bargain bin, so I might pick it up at some point soon. That said, I don't really have anyone to play with at the moment, so I am better off saving my money for the meanwhile? What's so 'Limited Edition' about every copy they're selling currently?
Basically first print run. Comes with code that unlocks Metal Sonic / OutRun Bay. (Or if you're talking Wii U it's already available form the get-go). I'm assuming non-Limited Edition copy buyers will have to pay for those things.
They'll eventually be DLC online for purchase. Really, I doubt it will reach that point since the first run is still readily available.
Wasn't there going to be a VidyaRetro thing with ASRT sometime this month? I guess until then here's my PSN (ViewtifulJason) for anyone else. I didn't pickup the 360 version because apparently I only played 13 hours online last year when they put their 10th anniversary XBL mailer out. That worked out to $4.62/hour, and not justifiable anymore.
The event was postponed until further notice since registration was a bit low and there were conflicting schedules with staff due to the holidays.
I'm shooting to scheduling it for sometime soon. Also for those who do want in on it, make sure you send the friend request to the VidyaRetro account (On your system of choice.)
Does Retro have a steam group? DISREGARD THAT. Forgot that it does just by scrolling to the top of the page. I imagine when it hits PC there could be a couple of people organizing a play date with events.
http://www.sonicretro.org/2013/01/transformed-online-community-day-this-friday-at-5pm-central/ Heads up for all of you, we're doing the Community Day this Friday at 5 PM Central time. Send your requests to VidyaRetro on PS3, 360 or Wii U.
Do you know in what order you will be playing each console? I'd rather not wait hours to play a game with internet acquaintances.
I tell ya, this game has one of the worst ratios of critical acclaim to sales in recent memory. Pretty much everyone I've talked to, every review I've read and everyone I've let try it has loved it. I'd have to make it my personal favorite game of 2012. Either way, people love the Mario Kart series, those games sell like crazy, and this game is at least AS good as recent Mario Karts (I find it to be better.) But none of the sales data that's been released has been good at all. I actually feel really bad for SEGA and the dev team who obviously put a lot of money, effort and heart into making an awesome game that's just not getting the notice it deserves. Do you think the Sonic brand is in dire straits (considering that IIRC Generations sold worse than Colors) or is it just a case of people figuring they'll just wait for the next Mario Kart?
I think in part people think that sonic is still awful and in part sega is shit at marketing. None of Segas games sell because people barely know they exist

Surprized they're not advertising the TF2 character being there, unless that comes later on with promo items for TF2 aswell.
Aw man, can't wait to get my ass kicked in tomorrow's community day! Oh, yeah, I also pre-ordered the PC version because, at the price of 20.22...how the hell could I not?
