I do not usually enjoy Zero Punctuation due to him being lazy with design, but this review is spot on and quite funny! He really captures the difference between normal gamers and modern Sonic fools.
Actually, it's a fair review. With the exception that Crisis City Classic is easily the best level in the game, and he's a fool for disagreeing with me on that.
Yahtzee seemed to spend WAY too much time going on and on about Sonic '06, but it was pretty enjoyable otherwise. Just the fact that he GOT to Time Eater tells me he enjoyed it, comedy be damned. He did bring up something, though, that a lot of reviews have commented on, and it kind of befuddles me. Did these guys really have THAT much trouble remembering that classic Sonic didn't have a homing attack? I've seen it commented on over and over, yet I never once had a problem with it. EDIT: LOL at this comment on the Escapist: Yes, random internet fucktard. Yet ANOTHER re-release of the Genesis games would require Sonic Team to think so much harder than completely re-imagining classic stages and building us a new, wonderful game.
I would just point him to this... And tell him Nintendo did just that. Which was probably the laziest thing you could do for a 25th anniversary.
Sega made Sonic Generations, Nintendo released a rom (here it's even on Pal bleh) on a disc when it have a service specially made for those. It's funny that some times Sega still does what Nintendon't.
Hey dudes heads up http://www.play-asia.com/Sonic_Generations/paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-70-47l6.html Play Asia's got Sonic Generations on sale right now for $18 it also seems to apply to the 360 version as well
Don't know if you're interested, but Sega/Sammy posted their Q3 financial results, and it seems Generations so far sold 1.630 million copies worldwide. Seems a good number. Only Mario & Sonic sold better.
It sold that much split between three consoles and two versions. I'd at least like to know the sales for the 3DS version alone, if not all the platforms individually.
Looks like they should have spent their time creating a dumbed down version for the Wii and just saying fuck the 3DS. Would have probably seen at least another million copies.
I don't know if a Wii version of a game at Christmas 2011 would have sold more than the 3DS version, regardless of quality.
Sort of offtopic but shouldn't the sub-title of the topic be changed since its still reffering to the street date being broken?
Well the Wii does have a bigger audience, and Sonic Colors sold great on the Wii. While some of those sales wouldn't have been made since people who own a Wii and a 360 or something might have only bought the 360 version, but plenty of people would have still bought the Wii version.
Does that include the Steam version of the game? Steam never seems to tell us how many have been sold on there, so it could be more than that altogether.
So where did the Casino Night DLC go? I'm pretty sure once it was released, SEGA said it wasn't for a limited time.
