I'll only switch if he says "oh, what a great view!" I can see him saying it at least once in Colors, at least.

If he speaks a lot of Engrish in Sonic Colors, I'll definitely switch to Japanese. Wow. XD
Not bad though, but still really funny.

The new Sonic voice sounds like this television voice-over:

I would much prefer if he just re-used the voice of that pink guy from that anime fighting game that was posted way back.
"Who is it? Who do I get to kill this time?"

  4. Junichi's so bad he's good. Every time he speaks English it's like a certain, horribly delivered line from SA1 all over again...

    WATCH OUT, YOU'RE GONNA CRASH.

    AHH!!!

While Griffith is so bad he's horrible. ]:<

It's funny that they dump Griffith right when he started getting good.

Junichi is freaking hilarious, I love his Sonic voice. He's been doing it for a long time and it seems like he really loves the role.

Hopefully he also says 'G'night, have a sweet dreams" Because that line was hilariously bad, regardless of accent.

I caught that too, with a bit of Drummond mixed in. I don't have any problems with the new voice at all.

I'm mixed on Roger's performance due to the voice I heard at the hotel. However, I do know that he can do a fitting voice for Sonic if given the proper direction and if he used a higher pitch. I'll just wish him the best and see what happens in Sonic Colors.

As for Kate Higgins, I interviewed her recently via email (I'll post a link below when I'm done typing), and from how it sounds, she understands the character and I the voice I found out she will do would fit Tails quite well. So I'm really looking forward to her performance

And here's the interview as I said.

For Mike Pollock, it's both awesome yet weird that he's the only voice actor staying. Though, I'm not complaining, I love his Eggman voice, because he can make it humorous, dark, and elegant when he wants, a trait in a character that I find difficult to execute at times.

Don't count too much on him being the only returner. I have a feeling one or two more will be returners. Dan Green is a favorite for Knuckles, apparently, though this may be more due to him just being Dan Green.

I was unaware Dan Green was voicing Knuckles up until now. I kind of don't like how he's all gruff and tough, even though that is Knuckles, I guess. I liked how he was kinda calm and collected in Sonic Adventure.

I'll be ticked if Dan Green returns because he was one of the few voice actors I thought was worse than the SA2 voice actors.

  13. I'm just happy they kept Pollock. To me, he actually got pretty good as Robotnik as time went on, although nothing tops the SatAM voice. It's just so deliciously evil.

  14. As soon as you said that, I heard "SNIVELY!" in my mind. That is a pretty darn good voice, and a memorable line to go with it.

Man, Junichi's Engrish is some of the best (worst?) Engrish I've ever heard. Why do they feel the need to make their characters speak English when the target audience is Japanese people?

At least he managed to speak 1 or 2 lines that didn't sound totally ridiculous.

Because in Japan, English is like 60-70% of all residents second language, they can all speak/understand it pretty well (well comparison to how many English speak Japanese well)

They get English classes all the way through school, I woullda killed for a Japanese class when I was growing up and impressionable, but what do we get? French, nothing againsed the French, but that was a HUGE waste of time

No Way! Come Back! - For someone whos first language isn't English, he acts this line very well. My favourite of Japanese Sonic's English.

It's nowhere near that many. Most can speak enough English to say, "Sorry, I don't speak English", but only about 25-30% can actually have a conversation in English.

And besides, English loanwords are littered all over Japanese vocabulary, and using English words is seen as "cool", at least to kids who don't know better.

It is kinda funny to see the parallels between the people over here who follow Japanese culture, and the people in Japan who follow English/American culture. I've even heard that American animation is quite popular over there at the moment.

  20. Reminds me of how Japanese is sho cool, desu. :specialed:

But SRSLY, Junichi Kanemaru has had 12 years and a TV show to nail down Sonic's voice and instead of Griffith who's consistently bad, but will sometimes have a small shine of...

Talent, Junichi is consistent in being good and funny. I like him, not just because he never fails to make me lol, but because he delivers his lines well. n_n
