Sorry to burst your bubble, but those springboards came from Aquatic Ruin just as much as they came from Chemical Plant. I think they're also found elsewhere in Sonic 2 (Mystic Cave?). All it probably means is that they took a lot of inspiration on level design from Sonic 2.

What about the hot-wheels boosters, which are only found in Chemical Plant?

    EDIT:

Ladies and gentlemen, for your consideration:

Also, why is Doomsday Zone playing during the Big Arms fight? That's just weird. It should be the Final Robotnik theme from Sonic 3.

Is anyone else hearing an ever so slight tinge of Mecha Green Hill in the classic City Escape music?

I feel emphasizing the community's praise on Generations is necessary for the sake of not being totally confrontational in tone, but no more than an opening paragraph. An opening paragraph is not a wall of text, so it should be fine. Even if Aaron and/or Patrick do know us, who knows if the letter may get forwarded to someone who doesn't?

@JcFerggy: Were you planning on writing a draft for this? I'd be happy to do so except I'm working on a few academic-related things right now. At least, I can critique a draft. (Also, I think making it viral is a superb idea, if Kotaku etc. pick up on it.)

Surprise, that is the Sonic 3 final boss music.

If any of you are going to do it, make it the least ridiculous and least visible possible. If anyone like Kotaku or Destructoid picks it up, they will say the obvious: it's ridiculous. And it will be ridiculed.

Just think about what you're writing and how others are going to view it. Think about the tone, the undertone, and the overtone of the heading, body, and conclusion, and pretty much how everything will sound if some thousand schmucks on the internet would read it as well as anyone from SEGA. And remember: nobody likes a predictable bitch. And that's how several people seem to see Retro: a bitchy, by-now predictable crowd. Keep that in mind.

Jesus, guys, just send Ruby a PM already.

  11. Actually... Its NOT Doomsday...at least not specifically.

    This is Doomsday:

This is what played in Sonic 3's Final Boss, the Final Boss theme for Death Egg in S&K and Sonic 3's Launch Base:

    Welp, this.
Guys, you do realize the way we get feedback back to Sega really does not require some sort of formal letter, right?

It's being passed on. Stop being weird about it.

What? No it's not. The S3 final boss music is what plays during the last two Death Egg Zone bosses in S3K.

    EDIT: Beaten.

    Exactly. What Scarred Sun said.

Just as they're aware of the SEGA forums, NEOGAF, and the SSMB.

I see what you're saying there, but no. It's the (secret) final zone music for S3&K, so it partly has nothing to do with Big Arms or Sonic 3. I actually didn't even know that track existed until I found out about the existence of Sonic & Knuckles after beating Sonic 3. That was when I first started getting into the Sonic scene.

While that's true, it still doesn't mean we will have Chemical Plant. It doesn't even serve the same purpose that it had in Chemical Plant. Plus Sonic 2 is not the only game that those boosters have been seen in.

Either way, if those speed boosters are notable for having been included in CPZ, in my opinion it should mean that CPZ is NOT going to be featured in Sonic Generations, and that they're the only cameo we're going to get of that zone.

She's right, have you guys noticed how this thread always has more than 30 guests viewing? SEGA is definitely listening. I always honestly thought that's the reason these threads always have such high traffic opposed to the registered members.

I don't mind the Doomsday Music; but they should have put the respective boss themes to be reminiscent of the game the level is based off of.

I'm sure I read in this mass of a topic that the Sonic 2 stage is Casino Night.

I think there are too many entries in the series to expect more than one zone from a Sonic game. But I suppose it also depends on which games Sonic Team are likely to ignore. Can't imagine Sonic 06 will be talked about much!
