I guess the game will get DLC every two weeks now? An update for Windmill Isle might push me to get a 360 points card.

Also, I swear Dragon Road would feel right at home in a Genesis Sonic game. It looks perfect.

Not buying any more dlc packs for this game, not worth it for stupid annoying hard variations.

They're really not that hard at all. I like them as refreshing takes on familiar levels. But... I guess we all can't be graced with skill.

While I'll likely pick up all the packs, I'm more looking forward to Adabat, Holoska and Shamar.

Any word on a North American PS3 version patch yet?

Also, how do you check the version number for Sonic Unleashed?

I think it's in Game Data Utility. If it's not there it's v1.00 :argh:

  6. I'm LOVING the new Sonic levels. They are the best downloaded ones yet.

I especially like the robot level.

You can check the game's version by pressing the Triangle button while the game's icon is highlighted in the XMB and going to Information (I think).

By the way, there wouldn't happen to be an easier way to get these DLC files (for the 360 version) onto a PC would there?

That's only for downloadable games. It doesn't work on disc.

You know, I've been reading around some other forums and it baffles me how people are just slamming these downloadable levels, passing them off as "a waste of time" or (my favorite) "laughably bad". In fact, I've even seen people outright insult those who enjoy them. They're just like the optional stages in the main game: concise stages that take a specific gameplay element or two and make them the primary focus. There are people that just won't seem to be satisfied with anything less than brand-new stages the size of the mandatory day levels, or brand-new entire continents/countries altogether, even though this prospect is unrealistic at best given the amount of time it would likely take to design and implement such things.

Honestly, I like the DLC. The stages are fun and challenging, and are certainly worth the meager 3-or-so dollar price tag. I just find it funny that people demanded DLC, Sega starts distributing some regularly, and then they're suddenly up in arms because their unreasonable expectations weren't met. Ridiculous.

Story of the Sonic series, pretty much. They can go fuck themselves, though. I like the format they chose for the levels. They remix some levels and add new mini-theme levels. I wasn't expecting anything like a new continent (Clay Castle was a stretch at first, but it became more and more apparent that it was just Mazuri there) but I'm certainly enjoying these new levels.

You just can't please everyone, but at the same time, everyone needs to stop having high expectations that DLC will mean getting something like The Lost and the Damned from GTA4.

So I got my wireless, but no xbox points. All the same I got an automatic update game for the game that seems to have fixed some problems with Adabat. But as far as I can see there's still some lag with that level. But at least it's fixed things somewhat.

I didn't really notice any changes with my game - Adabat was a tad smoother but it was still a chug-fest. I was also hoping the hub of Empire City would be smoother, but I didn't notice any difference. It was still worth updating for completion's sake, though.

There are some things about the DLC I really like and some I really don't . Even so, I do appreciate the effort, and I can tell that careful, tedious planning went into some of these, rather than just slapping stuff together (though I will admit, Rooftop Run day 1-2's difficulty seem to stem directly from spikes pretty much lining everything). And if you don't like it, don't download the rest. What is this thread for anyway? We've been discussing the game through most of the 369 pages it's lived. Someone's bound to give out their opinion/review on it. Or, there's always YouTube if you at least want to see it before you think about spending roughly $3.

There's not too much you can do with that level really. Due to there not being many bottomless pits, all they can do is make what they had harder.

Although I will say that they went above and beyond for Act 2-2.

Have you tried e-mailing a SEGA support e-mail account or whatever? You'll likely get a generic answer or something, but it's worth a shot.

I imagine this will be the same thing that'll happen for Apotos. There really doesn't seem like much they could do to the earlier levels because of how enclosed they are compared to some of the later levels.

I don't mean to be a dick dude, but...chill. Every one of your posts over the last several pages has been "hey wheres my DLC?" No one's plotting against you, and if you'd paid attention, we have a potential reason as to why it hasn't happened yet. Sony needs to charge developers for bandwith costs, and it's possible that right now, Sega may not feel like dealing with it. Yeah, that could be a misconception, but it sounds pretty logical to me. Think about it, several things are pretty much late to the party with Sony's console, sorry to say.

And you know, I'm sorry you and other PS3 toting Sonic fans haven't got the DLC, because it isn't bad at all. If you lived near me, I'd invite you over to play it. It just kinda feels like you're more upping your post count than taking actual part in the discussion, by coming by once a day and asking for your precious. It'll come when it comes. We've all had to sit by and watch as other people enjoyed something we too would like to enjoy.

Good things come to those who wait. I've got some faith that it will turn up at some point, but you'll know when it does. Don't waste your time asking for it.

::avoids bricks, flames, bullets, rockets, throwing knives, etc.::

I wish we could actually look into the things we're curious or unhappy about, rather than pointing fingers and bitching. Seriously, when the Spagonia DLC first came, the first comment on TSSZ was something akin to "They're racist because I bet Sonic Unleashed was made in America and since Microsoft is American, they like them better." And um...as far as I know, the game was made in Japan. By the Japanese. If they were that picky, there might not have been a 360 version at all, but throughout most of the world, the 360 just has a bigger market. It's a bigger priority to them to get the 360 DLC going than deal with Sony's bandwith fees, because like it or not, there aren't as many PS3 users, and I can't imagine all that many of them bought Sonic Unleashed, especially when many PS3 users bought the console specifically for MGS4 or Resistance. Not that Sonic fans can't have a wide variety of games, I just can't think of many people I know who enjoy the general PS3 library AND Sonic games, or platformers in general. But...that's just my own observation. I know several of you folks can sink your teeth into both. I've got just about every genre on my shelf except FPS (tried it, Halo(2,3) and Battlefield(2,BC) players are incredibly immature, and offline play for both is just....whatever) and EA Sports stuff (unless skate. counts).

    Yeah, here we go:
Terrible spelling/grammar aside, he or she's still playing the racism card (though with nothing to back it up with, so I don't really know why I care).

Fine with me. I'll be patient. In the meantime...

Throughout Apotos, there are many paths that are closed off by guard-rails. You can see that there are many roads that could be made solid (add collision) in order to turn the level in another direction. Of course, it probably will not happen, but I think it would be possible to implement if SEGA spent enough time designing a new Apotos area altogether. The windmills could be utilized, and if there was a lot of wind, (so the windmill blades would turn much more quickly) he could spin on the blades and let go, allowing him to reach other islands. (catapult effect.) Now I'm getting a bit out of hand with this...

Also, what if SEGA re-creates the Wii version daytime levels for DLC? ( Now that I think of it, this would render the Wii version useless to those that already bought the Xbox 360/PS3 versions. Ah well, it's a nice thought.)

EDIT: I see that Dark Sonic got that idea posted before me.

    Working on my art!
Personally I'd love to see a download which consisted of all the main Sonic day time levels for the Wii but updated graphically for the 360. If I could play the Wii levels but with the feel and look of the 360 version I think that would be the best mix for everyone (The Wii version felt stiff and had an annoying boost mechanic).

What I'm disappointed about though are these Hard versions of levels. Fun as they may be, I would rather see a new full lengthened Act rather than these mini things. The levels they've given us are fun too.

And as far as downloads I want to see but probably won't happen are the following:
Playable Metal Sonic for Day stages
Playable Knuckles for Day and Night stages (I think this would work and it would lead to some very interesting gameplay)
Casino Night Zone (The game needs a casino level damn it)
    Marble Garden Zone

A Patch that allows you to change the following options:
Classic sound effects on/off (When on replaces all the in game sound effects with retro ones, like the jumping sound, spring sound. Also disables voices)
Chip on/off (When off Chip doesn't follow you around the Hubs and he doesn't appear on the results screen)
    Werehog battle music on/off
Exp points on/off (I've been at max stats for quite a while now, and I'm sick of seeing that stupid thing come up after the results screen. Also gets rid of the yellow gems that appear after killing an enemy)
Medal icon on/off (Again, I'm sick of seeing this at the results screen, I have them all)
Control layout (I don't like boost being the same button as homing attack, I'd rather have homing attack be A so air boost can be X)

    That's all I got
