Having some issues with collision. I made the mesh SGDKStaticMesh Actor,. but Sonic still bounces around.

  2. You'll have to send me that part of the level, aside from the mini-gap/step it looks correct to me.

    EDIT:
Tips & Tricks wiki article is finished for now.

  4. The collision meshes you're using for the ship are the problem. And you shouldn't have gaps between the collision meshes.

I recreated the ramp with BSPs and Sonic didn't have issues.
I also tried to remove the collision meshes of the ship, use per-poly collision and Sonic had less issues (too many materials/triangles I guess).

Download my 2DMap with BSPs and you'll see.

Actually, I think the issue was that I resized it in UDK. I tired resizing it in Max and to worked out fine.

That Per poly collision works pretty well. It's like per pixel collision, right? If I'd had know that, I wouldn't have spend literally all day trying to get this collision to work. =:E

That looks quite nice in game.

  8. Are there any finished projects using SonicGDK? I keep seeing all these awesome videos and pictures, and want to play through them, but I haven't been able to find anything!

Finished projects? Lol. As far as I know, there haven't even been any announced projects using GDK.

Hello. My name is Toriano, but most call me Tori.I have come across a recent problem on my ventures in UDK.I noticed that whilst creating my collision,UDK,at some point would not recognize it.
I have placed the accurate abbreviation and title, via 3DSMAX.Most of the collision that I loaded worked flawlessly honestly. It's only when I attempted to do a more subdivided detach on a plane.
Afterwards,I shelled it outward so that it didn't collide with the mesh and make things look awkward.Anyways,I do know that the collision object shouldn't be concave and should have closed/capped
surfaced. If there's any way that I could rectify this situation,I'd be most grateful.I did check some of the assets in the pre-made test level(By:Xaklse) and found that the collision wasn't there..which
    baffles me lol.

Oh.I apologize also for interrupting any ongoing topics. It's just that I want to release a small model package for GDK to incorporate in tests to benefit others.

YES! You have no idea how long I have been waiting for an engine like this. All my free time will now be wasted making a HD mushroom hill zone.

  13. There are some announced projects, but the only one that actually has showed something is AXSX by Andrew75; I directly helped him with new code and a demo was published.

The models I have in my package don't have collision models, but if you follow this...

I would love to be informed about your progress. Good luck.

I got my hands on the egg engine but was somewhat disappointed with Unity's power graphically. I somehow wish someone ported the egg engine to UDK.

Graphically speaking,it's not that bad honestly. The fact that your able to produce that nature of graphics in your browser is a bonus honestly.
It's probably more about placement and thought than anything.I remember when I had my first glance of the Egg-Engine.My eyes lit up like
    fire.I only wish that it we're used on Sonic 4 though.Even in it's development phase,it's a marvel.But yes,I definitely agree.Though it most-likely
will be time consuming and brain numbing,it'd be a great success.Either way,it's still awesome.

Thank you so much for that.I had found whilst developing collision within Max,the character would lose it's threshold towards the surface and fly off, though at some point,he would stick.
The collision works flawlessly when shelling out polygons of a cloned mesh though.I'm just wondering if that has any actual affect on the poly-count or is it just not even render, but acts
the same way as volume would. : P I guess I'll just have to do a few more collision types on the different types of surfaces.Again, thank you.

The new stuff in this release is neat. And I also tried out the level warps (which I presume were in earlier versions), and while the 'forest' level didn't work (it went straight to first-person mode, and obviously you can't run around the outside), the two levels I could run around in I could navigate with ease despite Sonic's weird scale compared to the rest of the level, which makes him larger than any UT3 character for some reason. Sonic may not be insanely fast, but his movement at top speed is smooth and tight enough to navigate surprisingly small spaces without much difficulty (or the quick-step, I might add), something that I probably wouldn't be able to pull off in the Adventure games, or Unleashed/Colours/Generations. Being able to do that is so much more satisfying than any of the cheap "thrills" from Unleashed/Colours/Generations.

This engine is way too good to be wasted on linear, automated level design.

    I finished this earlier today.It's a render,but it's been rigged via CAT
and contains custom bones to allow for smooth and easy rotation.

  18. Any idea of what's missing in SGDK compared to EggEngine?

Not bad, are you going to use them for a map?

Holy... I wish I was that good at ZBrush. Great job; hope you get somewhere with making that and everything!
