Sega's confirmed Australia is getting the bundle too.

  2. Google says £60 = ~$95

If this is like any other Special Editions, it's gonna be between £60~80 on release and then may drop to £30~40 within 4 months if there's any still laying about in stores (Like Duke's Balls of Steel Edition)

SEGA has been screwing their fans over in every way possible since the dreamcast died, are you just catching on now?

What really gets me is the fact that Sonic the Hedgehog is a japanese videogame franchise AIMED at the American Audience. If it's aimed at the American audience, why don't AMERICANS Get the special edition of this game?

It makes no fucking sense, and as noted before, the absolutely absurd exchange rates with the euro make this a "I'll import this" to "I'll wait for the price drop" for people that want sega's love.

It is shocking when you consider the fact this is Sonic Generations, a celebration of the past 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog. If this were any normal sonic game, I'd be inclined to agree with you. But this is a very special mark in Sonic's history, and I don't believe doing regional collector's exclusives is going to win them fans.

Such a shame Americans won't be able to celebrate Sonic's history the same way people can do in Europe.

SoA is already getting a ton of backlash from not releasing that here. I don't expect it to be available at all to the U.S. outside of an odd Free Stuff Friday if Sonic Colors' special edition and Sonic Classic Collection were any indications.

Shame, really. I'm sure plenty of Sonic fans would have dropped $70 for that pretty easily. The pot is certainly sweet enough.

Still, PS3 owners shouldn't fret as they're at least guaranteed region free discs. The 360 is region free as well usually, but it's been getting spotty with some games being locked down. Sonic should be fine though.

Also, despite having a Western target for a Japanese game, Europe and Australia have always been bigger Sonic and Sega territories. Sega's just showing their devout more love for all the years of patronage. This really isn't shocking at all. Americans are just pissed because they're not getting a nice bundle despite a historically lukewarm reception to Sega.

Okay, okay, okay... I say we stop the complaining about who deserves what.
It doesn't make you look cool to boast about having to spend more money on useless crap.

Let's focus on the positive here:
-There's an included soundtrack, which will be ripped and posted hours upon release.
-There's most likely some lost production art in the art book that will be posted as well.
-The documentary will on Youtube before we know it.

That's all besides the point when you consider the fact that people like to actually own something. Seeing the video on YouTube isn't the same as having an original copy of the disc at all. The same applies to everything else. And what of the Statue and ring?

SEGA really did themselves well with that ring. It's on of the coolest pieces of merch ever.

I'll hook a Euro bro up through Paypal. Question is, how would this affect the whole Casino Night thing?

I'd ask for it as well, but the rising cost of education has just raped my bank accounts.

    Goddamnit, gubbament.

It's a bullshit pinball minigames. Who cares. It's probably broken like Sonic 4 too and will most likely be sold separately down the line.

Now shut up and someone take my money.

I got someone in europe who is willing to export the CE bundle for me, we've done business together before. I'm sure he'd have no problem exporting other bundles if I could provide the money for him in advanced, anyone want me to ask for them?

Well, I mean accessing European DLC on a U.S. console without having to make a new PSN account in a different region. I remember that being an issue with other games like getting Tales of Vesperia content for free from Asian markets while being a Japanese game.

I'm at work and thus I won't be able to check this thread 24/7, but if anybody is interested, just shoot me a PM and later today I'll tally up the number of people who requested one and shoot the info to my buddy. Keep in mind this isn't a done deal, but I should know in a few days if we can have him export them or not. He's exported stuff for me in the past, so I don't think it'd be a big deal, but you never know.

To the two who already said they're interested (Azukara and Chimpo), please shoot me a PM as well just in case so I don't forget you two.

Oh hey, another thing - if you pm me, try and tell me which version (PS3 or 360) that you're interested in. Like I said, it may take a few days for the guy to get back to me (time zone differences) but I'll be sure to ask.

I'll tag on to a PS3 version after a more concrete price shows up. As much as I like the bundle, I'm not about to drop $120 for it.
