Your Opinion on Shadow

He's a bad ass Emo hedgehog thing. What more could you say other than for those of you who can't stand him. I didn't like Shadow at first. Primarily because I hadn't acquired a 3D Sonic Game in my whole life up until two years ago. I begged my mom for a Dreamcast but it never happened.

 

I don't know but I agree with you. Shadow would be awesome if all he was was essentially the Sonic series equivalent to Meta Knight. Doesn't say much, dark, looks cool, wants to fight you, isn't on anyone's side.

Sure Sega basically tries to do this but they're doing it wrong.

 

Shadow is one of the elements killing the series by trying to introduce plot to a series that should have no plot. He's some sort of GUN agent, apparently, but that means that a game involving him will be plot-driven.

Sonic should be without plot.

 

So everyone in this day and age is emo and wants to cut themselves.

 

Simplicism should be incorporated more into Sonic these days, but a Sonic game with no plot is a step backwards in my opinion.

I mean, we have all these characters that each have at least a small amount of potential. I for one want the characters expanded upon in how they act and interact with one another. For example, I would love to see a casual conversation between Blaze and Shadow. The two seem like the kind of people who would really hit it off.

And for that matter, I want a game to showcase more organic interactions between Sonic and others. You know, something like Shadow in the middle of a coffee when Sonic runs into him and awkwardly asks for his help.

And then he offers to help on the condition Sonic gets SEGA to release Shadow 2, which becomes a real-life game. Full of poking fun at RAWR GRUNGE themes.

 

I'd argue that people who blame the poorness of the series on plot are morons and should probably be ignored, but that might offend someone.

 

Shadow is okay, but he should have stayed dead after Sonic Adventure 2.

He and Knuckles are two main characters who I feel don't need to be in every single game. Apparently Sonic Team feels that way too.

I'd just like express his view on things by using sarcasm, and (bitch)slap Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or anyone each time they make an overly stupid remark.

 

This. Shadow is the character I like less, because of that emo and angst shit.

 

All things considered, the emo died out with Sonic Adventure 2 to be replaced with boring old amnesia. The wangst more or less died out with his titular game leaving him as a mostly indifferent secret agent man. Since then nothing.

Shadow should be recast into an insane communist to Sonic's capitalist. He already has the color scheme down pat.

 

Isn't Robotnik already filling that role?

 

Hm, I just realized... all the cool characters these days either seem to feature a red and blue or red and black colorscheme, and usually, a bigger part cannot understand how the red and black character would be liked over the red and blue one... examples for 'em red and black dudes? 8D

No, Robotnik is much more of a Benito Mussolini figure. Sure, he has the same color scheme, but he's too quirky and lacks that charming Comrade quality that could really make Shadow a commie badass.

Seriously. Shadow as a Russian? Everyone would love him.

 

As strange as it may seem, I like Shadow as he's portrayed in the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics series. He ends up teleporting to Anti-Mobius or Moebius as it is now called (in case you missed the difference, it has an E in its name.) by mistake. He appeared right in front of Scourge and Sonic during their fight. Then he asks a series of questions to Sonic and after Sonic answers them and such Sonic asks Shadow "Wanna help beat him up?" then Shadow says "Sure." I got some lulz out of that whole bit it. That was both bad ass and funny at the same time.

 

I got more lulz from the face he made in issue 1 of Universe. :v:
