Sonic World was a nice bonus, the games are ok but no genesis game should have load times.

  2. Haha, that swap trick link mentions playing backups of games. Who the hell plays backups? Lol.

My Sega Saturn was ruined with the Swap method. I would highly reccomend a mod chip.

I dare not try the swap method with my Sega Saturn. I'm fine with using my AR Plus 1M-4M. That way I can play both Japanese and whatever U.S. games that aren't too scratched up.

I love Sonic Jam; it has most of the significant Sonic games in one fairly affordable package. Although, what really launches Jam above Mega Collection is the amazing Saturn controller. It more than holds up for the 2D Soncis, and it's done so well that it's almost as good as the originals (except for the load times... ugh).
Also, if you haven't already, buy NiGHTS. Really.

I probably should get back to work on my site someday...
I too was using a cartridge memory card in the back (I think it was called Memory Plus or something like that), but sadly the cartridge slot has got so worn out (probably due to the third party cartridge) that it won't recognize there's anything in it, which means I can't play my import games anymore the easy way (damn that was a long sentence). I tried squeezing the connectors together as well but that didn't really help.

Sonic Jam really is a great game for anyone's collection. It has the nice museums in the 3D world along with the timeline and those little challenges. Which reminds me, I remember there was a challenge you could do if you held down buttons when you entered the Sonic World. You had to get 100 rings in 60 seconds but I found it impossible no matter what methods I took in snatching up all the rings.

On the Swap Method, that's a surefire way to ruin your laser. If you're going to play burned games, either buy a dreamcast or get a modchip; they're safer and result in less Saturn-esque casualties (I've been using one Model 1 for about ten years now while my cousin has burned through at least five in the past seven years).

Sorry for reeling this further off-topic, but speaking of burned games, what's the best way to play burned PS2 games?

Either get a modchip or buy a swap magic ps2 disk.

Should've mentioned this earlier: What programs did Kojichao use to rip the music from Sonic Jam?

A modchip is reccomended, especially if you want to play import/burned PSX games as well, but I haven't had any problems with Swap Magic 3.0 and the fliptop lid.

I believe there is an exploit that allows you to play import/burned games without the further need for SwapMagic disks/swapping, which if you know how to execute the exploit, might very well save your PS2 motor and laser from certain destruction.
